  1. not that he should be treated any different because he's a minority
  2. please take your personal beef with me elsewhere. There is a much more civil way to respond as a few members did. thanks. that was indeed my intent and we haven't even touched on nuisance permits.
  3. really? huh didn't know that. I've never gone through the process. You still could have up to 4 dmp's though plus your either sex bow/mz and your regular season and i'm probably forgetting another.
  4. what's funny though is that dog running is part of the heritage and tradition in the south. It is certainly not without controversy, and I do agree that not obeying the law can be unethical and I would say someone running deer in NY would be unethical. But it's so interesting to me that just a few hours south and it's not considered unethical. Same deer. Same country.
  5. How many don't shoot the same scrub 4 with a normal hide, but shoot the piebald?
  6. First it's not too hard to process a deer. Secondly you can essentially have many doe tags as they're transferable. Perfectly legal. Multiple bucks on the other hand is bad news.
  7. Ahh kitchen knife changes things
  8. Except they are man made and constantly change. If I smoked a joint in Colorado last year I am unethical? But now that it's legal smoking that same joint means I'm an ethical human?
  9. It's fun to talk about... With some of the non-hunting topics posted by some does this really bother you?
  10. Wouldn't shoot it. Specifically that looks like a young buck anyhow. Wish they took a better picture. Doesn't do a beautiful deer like that justice to have it laying in the snow like that.
  11. Preach on brother. While the law does a decent job in an attempt to control humanity, what is ethical is not always legal and what is legal is not always ethical. But we were all raised differently so our values and goals differ. I'd like to think though that most decent human beings know wrong when they see it without having to go to the CFR's.
  12. I stand by my opinion that a different breed of Hunter emerges during gun season. You can't polish a turd.
  13. A literal a minute grow. Just enough for them to find the deer. Your point is fair, but we have prior agreements about recovery, so while he may have felt bad about the hunt a simple apology might have been ok and I wasn't mad. But this is the same guy who cut shooting lanes on posted property, hauled off all the evidence and painted the cuts black so maybe he didn't have a tag.
  14. Guys we need to be united as hunters. We can't judge other hunters who hunt differently than us. cuomo just legalizes fireworks I think so let's not let the antis see us fighting, and support these guys who are just trying to fill their freezer because they can only hunt 1 weekend a year because we all don't have vacation and money. 15. What are you talking about? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  16. Why leave the knife? Too much sentimental value in mine to ever do that. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  17. Seems odd to gut if you just want horns. Maybe this noob was trying to quarter it in the field and didn't really know what he was doing or possibly just wanted the tenderloins and the horns? But I've rarely seen someone not just cap the head and try to cut them off separately? Still seems like maybe trying not to tag. But leaving stuff behind makes me think maybe his wife went into labor or something lol. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  18. Maybe try one of those body suits versus the smelly and sometimes dangerous heater? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  19. I don't consider hours a long time. Maybe you do, but then again in 15 years I've found at lest 5 dead deer shot by hunters. I've literally tracked one deer all afternoon without blood and recovered and helped my father with one that we found after 2 days. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  20. That's fair. Had a neighbor shoot a doe once and we all have a recovery agreement. She died like 20' from my stand I'm like 30' up there so I watch them a minute before I announce I'm there. The guy seemed to feel guilty for some reason and asked if I wanted it. I politely declined but in my head I'm thinking "wtf did you shoot her for if you didn't want the meat?" 21. scent lok also has 50% off everything and free shipping on their website
  22. Why do people shoot deer they don't want themselves? Did you want him to shoot you one?
