spa couples weekends are sweet. relaxation for you both and considering most couples are pooling their money it's not a bad idea that you both go. If she has some close sisters or girlfriends that she'd rather go with you might want to talk to the husbands. But personally I've had some awesome massage, facials, pedicures. If you think that's gay I don't believe you've ever had one yourself. Takes the stress right out of you. Healthy.

Would You Support a Blaze Orange Compromise?
Five Seasons replied to wildcat junkie's topic in Deer Hunting
1. it's a compromise. The lack of compromise is why the dems and repubs continue the downward spiral of this once great nation. Both sides refuse to budge for the greater good and so we remain unchanged. 2. we're talking hypothetical. and yes in the state i now hunt those are the rules. Public land only. You can remove your BO in blind and in stand. You can hunt 30 min before and after. On private land you do not need to wear BO. So what's the real big issue here? Big brother allowing you to hunt a little longer with a compromise you wear a vest and hat for the small hike in and out. -
I've hunted NYS my whole life. I have heard illegal shots both morning and night more times than I can count. 2 months of gun season on public land in the south and i've not heard a single shot >30 before sunrise or after sunset. That's how I know. And like I said, those willing to shoot IN THE DARK are already going to shoot in the dark with todays law. So it's the same with gun control. Gun control hurts the law abiding citizen and does nothing to hurt the criminal. I'm not offended. I just don't understand it. No personal attacks by me. Not once since I joined and you can ask any mod and he will back it up. It's a discussion. Without differences in opinion than this site would be pretty boring. For those that do not like the multiple page discussions you can very easily avoid them. It's very clear in the now 3 or 4 topics about legal light that the site has quite a divide.

where does it stop? Can I own and walk around with an RPG, armor piercing bullets, a tank? There needs to be "some control". Keep believing society can make its own decisions and you'll keep seeing crazy bastards ruin it for the rest of us. I guess I've never understood open carry. So long as I can have my weapon, I feel no need to display it unless provoked. -

the majority of americans with 2 little kids would not. don't pretend that they would. "oh hey look honey that guy over here with the mullet and fatigues is walking around with an assault rifle" Lets ask him if he knows where the toasters are. -
Buba did the right thing. A cop is not a judge and jury. They arrest and you're innocent until a judge determines otherwise. Bubba's position does not allow for that level of freedom. His cases are logged and documented and can establish precedent.

normally you and I can meet in the middle when we disagree. I do not believe for one second that "smart people" believe it's ok to bring your AR into target and starubkc. It's freaking scary to a family whether it's scary to you or not. I for one would feel uncomfortable, so I can't imagine what most "smart people" would feel like. Put your pistol in you IWB and be happy about it. geez. If you're going to argue that you need your AR for self defense than I'm going to bow out of this argument a .45 will handle 98% of situations you run into. -
selectively logging the adirondaks would be the best thing this state could do. it's so dead up there and nothing grows. mother nature will attempt to do her own fires but we put them out. I've seen some national forests down south where they do controlled burns and logging. the growth and wildlife that comes from them is unbelievable.

Do coyote and crow contests tarnish hunters' image?
Five Seasons replied to Curmudgeon's topic in General Hunting
giving me bad examples doesn't mean you did anything to support your case -

I don't know of any that require BO during archery. So yes, it would be for gun and mz seasons. the extra hour applies to all seasons. they also tell you that you can't use bait, what hours you can hunt and with what weapons. So what's the big deal that you might to wear a special hat? -
well this article was about gifts not what we are doing on the holidays, so I don't think you were taking a jab at me but regardless we go to mass most sundays and certainly on christmas.

you need to join some motorcycle and any automobile forum dedicated to a specific make and model. The bikes and cars are worse.

you're honestly the biggest troll this sight has seen in a while. Here a few months and nothing but constant freak outs.

I'm so sick of this argument. 95% of us who think when it's 15, 20 or even 30 minutes before sunrise is light enough to safely shoot are not the same guys who are going to shoot in the dark. This is not the speed limit. Yes if you raise the speed limit to 65 we will all start going 70 or 75. Those in favor of a rule change want it because it's laughable to sit in your stand with perfectly good light and not be able to take a shot. Not one of us has ever asked for a law to shoot 60 minutes before light, or do I believe one of us would take a shot in the dark were it legal. The guy who is going to "push the law" because he can is the same guy already breaking the law and probably a few others. The 30 minute rule adopted safely by many states does nothing but help the responsible hunter. The slob hunter remains unchanged. I walked into the woods a few weeks ago in the dark. I caught some eyes about 30 yards ahead and that day i was planning on ground blind hunting. So I popped a squat right there. I didn't fire blindly into the dark. However, in Mississippi the 30 min rule is in affect and within 20 minutes it was legal light and honestly the light was safe. The deer was gone, but I'd have had to wait another half hour in NY just to potentially watch a perfectly safe shot walk away.

my wife and i don't do much for each other anymore. We get a little something for each other because it's a nice time for us to show our appreciation and that we care for each other. Where it gets crazy is when you have kids. Trying harder to buy less junk and nicer things, but it's hard to walk into toys r us when you're older and you can actually buy the toys you wish you had...

the lithium battery in a prius does more damage to the earth than the emissions from the tailpipe of my truck. With enough research and time and technology we can work to make batteries better, waste reclamation better etc. Honeywell themselves took a grant and invested 10's of millions to make a better, cheaper lithium battery. Let's just say I now work for a very large industrial company that makes our money off of oil and gas, wind and water, turbines smart grid etc. It's in our best interest to make everything more efficient.

Pro-Gun, Anti-NRA
Five Seasons replied to Curmudgeon's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
perhaps I dind't do a great job of explaining my stance. I never once advocating for taking anything away. I have an NRA membership. I'm pro gun, I vote for pro gun. I left the f'n state and one of the reasons were the gun laws. What I'm saying is there's a line where you do not need to flaunt your "rights". It turns the voting population off. Weak man may be your opinion, but I get one vote and so do you. So if your pride allows you turn 5 voters off? How much did you accomplish? You're now out voted. -
I do. In fact I worked at Honeywell in Buffalo for a number of years. The very company that partnered with DuPont to replace the CFC's with HCFC's and is now attempting to replace the high global warming HCFC's with HFC's. which cost more and don't work as well of course a great success story really.

the public views different offenses differently. I'm not sure how hard that is to grasp. I get in the paper for child molestation or rape and you might think differently than if I was pulled over and blew a .09.

there's no pissing match. It's an open discussion and a suggestion. Geez, why does everything have to be a fight with you?

bought myself a handheld garmin ($200 off), scentlok (50% off sale) and a grinder and vac sealer. Christmas for me always comes in the fall.

Personally I'd rather see us invest in green energy. I'm not anti-fracking, but by school I have a degree in environmental engineering and the things we've done to our planet before understanding them are jaw dropping. Even more so, the things we've done KNOWING they're bad is even more scary. There is nothing good about chemicals and altering the ecosystem we live in. Whether it's through drilling or burning or just releasing them into the atmosphere. Don't get me wrong, I own 2 V8's a V6 a motorcycle and a decent amount of lawn and garden tools that could be done by hand. But we need to push to get away from gas and oil.

For me if it was legal shooting time and the shot was not safe because of low light then I would not take the shot. It's the same argument I would make for taking a shot 15 minutes before NY legal light. If it's safe it's safe.
