FREE FISHING DAYS IN NEW YORK Date: June 29 - 30, 2013 Time: All Day Each year, the last full weekend in June is designated as Free Fishing Days in New York State. During those two days, anyone can fish New York State waters, and no fishing license is required. This event started in 1991 to allow all people the opportunity to sample the incredible fishing New York State has to offer. Since no license is required, it is the perfect time to take a friend or relative fishing. In 2013, New York State's Free Fishing Days are Saturday and Sunday, June 29 & 30. Each of DEC's nine regions can sponsor up to four free fishing events per year. Most free fishing events occur during the period from April through October. For a listing of currently posted events, please view the table, but be sure to check back periodically to see if additional events have been added. So, first time anglers, as well as those who have drifted away from the sport, should take advantage of this opportunity to see how much fun fishing can be. I have talk to many about this along with D.E.C. and some from the town official's from Islip The dove is considered a song bird in the state of new York and there for can not be hunted I know a number of hunters who tried to have this changed so they could be hunted but it was always turned down papabear

I dint loss power but had a friends son stay with us and he unplugged the freezer I dint find out till four days later lost all my venison and about 15 ducks and geese I was upset about the lost of all my game too papabear

if you would have read my first post you would know that is what i said there is no season for the cross bow right now when we did have a season it was during the gun season only and not with the bow season as soom thought if this bill pass's the cross bow could be used during any season time wil tell Papabear

as instructors we need to know what is legal and what is illegal so we can pass it on to our class also the cross bow is not allowed to be used during the bow season and only durning the gun season so they let us know about it so we can teach it in our class I am always getting information about hunting and the laws of New York from D.E.C. hunter education papabear

I bin getting some calls and email about cross bow hunting on long island and up state I called and spoke with law inforcmint . They said there will not be a season for the cross bow in new york state for the season of 2013 if there is going to be any chamges they will let hunter satfty instuters know.If i do hear of any changes I will post them here papabear

well another year of ice fishing came and went. I need to fine a new partner my old partner got sick and he no longer fish's or hunts. so I am now on the look out for a new ice fishing partner and if your intrested in surf or fresh water fishing on long island let me know papabear

venison 5 minuet Rice 1 medium onion 1 bell pepper 1 Tbs garlic 10 oz fresh mushroom 2 -14 oz cans of beef gravy 1 Tbs pepper 1 Tbs salt Cook rice as indicated on box. In small pot, put in onion, bell pepper, garlic and mushroom. Cook till peppers and onion are tender. Drain. Add to rice with meat and gravy. Heat on medium for 15 minutes stirring every 5 minuets

Yes I hunted that spot for years I was them told I could not that was about 4 or 5 years back I found out two guys placed "NO HUNTING SIGNS" up and they were telling every one to get out I spoke to a D.E.C. officer that I know he told me that it was never closed and you can hunt it That is one of the spots I hunted and I will be going back there again I have a few others I hunt for them at papabear
