It was not stolen by kids to take on a joy ride. It was brand new off the floor. The tires had never seen the road. The trooper said and I agree that whoever put it there, backed in on trail as far as they could go and than carried it. I t was a 200cc street bike.

Yesterday morning I left my house to go down to the store to to pick up a cup of coffee and then ride around to the back road to see if there is any game movement. The back road is a dirt road that goes over the mountain and comes out two min from my house.I am a bow hunter and I don't start hunting until the last week of Oct.It was still dark when I came around a blend and my headlights picked up a red light out in the woods and then it was gone. I backed up and there it was again. There were no cars parked on the the road that would let me think maybe a hunter was in the woods. This road is posted on both sides and I can hunt most of it and I know the owner lets others hunt if they ask. The light was not there the morning before 'so it had to be something new. I didn't go in to check it out then because if it was another hunter I didn't want to get in the way of his hunt , so I went on to another spot and would check it out at mid day to see if someone else was hunting there . I have hunted that hill for over 35 years and I know it like the back of my hand and I knew with in yards of were the light was coming from. I moved on to another place and sat for three or four hours and keep thinking about that light and telling myself that something is not right. I waited until noon and make my way back in a round about way to come in behind it. What I found was a motorcycle that was all cover up and the only thing showing was it's rear red reflectder and that was what my headlights picked up. It had no plate and it looked to be new. I backed out and went to call the statepolice and told then what I had found and was told they would send a car up and if I could show then were I found it. It was a new bike and the trooper stated calling all over to find out if anyone was missing one. They took it out of there and back to the station to check for fingerprints. That the last I saw of it. The trooper thanked me and said they would find out who it beloned to. It is the first time I found anything like that.

I have used Sawyer's for the last five years and have not had any ticks on myself that I could find. Best stuff that I know of for ticks. I buy it from Cabela's, but I see that Dick's has it now.

Go to a sporting store and buy a 4'x12' ft, camo netting and some dark rope., useing clothes pins to hang the camo on the line that can be run between two or more trees . Do not pull line tight, you want some slack so that it looks natural. Go the were the deer were standing and look back to the place that you want to set up and see if it is your outline they are seeing , if so you want to set up with the netting behind you to break up your outline.or you can set up behind it.. I also sometimes pickup sticks and put in the ground to hold the netting. I have hunted on the ground for the last 30 years and have used this setup many times when I can't find a natural setup and have taken many bucks useing the camo netting. It is lite and easy to setup in two min. and it can be used any place that you want to hunt. I also use arm and hammer baking soda and put in my hair and all over my body. Good luck and be safe.

I want to take the time to thank all who anwsered my question about the Diamond Edge. From the anwsers it looks like the bow should meet my needs. I am 70 years old and and a med problem that makes it impossible to use the bow I have now.It is going to take a little time getting use to shooting 40lbs when I have always shot 65lbs. Thanks again.

Has anyone on here ever owned or hunted with a Diamond Infinite Edge? I have developed a problem that won't let draw my bow because of the pull weight, so I need to get something with lighter draw weight, MY Doc. told me that I shouldn't pick or pull anything over twenty lbs. The Infinite Edge is the only bow that I can get and have it in my hands and shooting in three days. I can have it set at 35 to 40 lbs to hunt with it. I know that sounds low, but I knew someone that hunted with a bow only 30 lbs. and killed a deer every year. what do you think of this bow?

Wake me up when the steelhead are in. Steelhead and big browns are the only fish worth fishing for on the Salmon river. Hook them up on the pin and find out what good fishing is all about. It is you and the fish, great fun. C/R ALL FISH.

I can put a little yran or felt on the hook and I am legal

Stopped in Dicks to pick up a few things I needed. As I waited to check out, a DEC officer (game warden) was right behind me. I asked if I could talk to him about a couple things and he said sure ,just as soon as we were done at the check out. I wanted to know about a few things when fishing the West Branch Delaware. I asked him if I could fish beads and would it be legal to do so. When fishing beads the bead is placed 1 1/2 to 2" above a bear hook. He told me that he knew how beads were fished and that he himself would have no problem with it.,but he can not speak for other wardens.. He told me that New York state law stated that all fish have to be taken with a baited hook.. I then asked about about useing scented plastic baits in the artificial only. He told me that as long as it was artificial ( scented or not) it was legal.

Was out on my back deck (6:00pm) cooking on the grill when two hen turkeys walked through my back yard. Not a chick between them. Not a good sign. They were headed to the pipe line.Hopefully to fine a gobbler.

Took a trip down to the west branch Delaware this morning and had some good fishing for three and one half hours. Went 2 for 4 . Had four hook up and lost two with two landed.. First hook up was a bruiser of a fish.Had him on for four or five min. before breaking off my line at the hook. After his first run at hookup he made three more runs and was just pounding on my rod. I use a thirteen foot noodle rod. The only thing that upset me was I never got to see how big he was because I never got him in close enough to see. The next hook up was a 16" brown that I landed , nice and fat.The third one was another brown of 20" in that I landed. The last hook up of the the day was a rainbow that came out of the water a good 2' to 2 1/2 ' feet before getting off. All in all a good morning fishing

I had a hen bird cross the road today at 12:30 pm . I was on my way home so I took the back road to see if anything was moving. That is the first bird that I have seen since the first day of the season.I hope this is a sign that things are going to heat up. Just this morning I had been down to the golf course and had talked to one of the care takers and asked if he had seen or heard any turkeys this spring. He told me that they had not seen or heard any this year and it always had turkeys around and you could hear gobbers there all the time, but not this year. I am hoping with only a week and a half to go.

Hang in there They will start up again. It may only last A day or two, but it will happen.

That how I feel. I once told my wife that if anything ever happen to her ,that I would not marry again, not because I loved her so much, because I couldn't live with another dam woman.
-
I start in the woods by 5:00 am and if any birds are gobbleing with in a mile I can hear then because I am allreadly on top of the mountain.

I was lucky to have scored this year on the first morning with a good bird. That was the first gobble of the season and the last that I have heard this spring. I have gone out most morning and I have been getting into my setup spots by 5:30 am. I have not heard a peep, nothing , zipbo. This morning I went to a new game plan. I got in the woods at 9:00 am and would walk a 100 to 200 yards and setup and call for 15 min. and not hearing anything, moving on another 100 to 200 yards and start over again. I covered two to three miles this morning not heading anything.Tomorrow I plan on doing the same thing, but in a new spot. I have done this before and it has worked for me.in the pass. I am hoping the birds fire up in the next few days. I will give this plan a week and if it not working ,I have one more trick that I use late in the season that works real good, but I don't like using it when I don;t know who and if there are other hunters in the woods. I only use it in the middle of the week, never on weekends. I start walking and every 100 yards or more i gobble and then move on and keep moving on .I cover a lot ground doing that and if there is a bird around he will anwer me. If I don't kill him that day, I come back the next day and wait on him. I have taken a lot of birds this way when they have shut down. Tomorrow is a new day and I will be out there.

Way to go. Good story and a great day for both of you.

Had to take the wife for blood work first thing this morning, so I didn't get in the turkey woods until after 7:00am I sat for a good two hours to see if anything was happening. Never heard a bird. I headed home to get my fishing gear and to the west branch Delaware.. I had my centerpin and was fishing bait under the float. The best way I know to trout fish. The first hour the fish were turned on and I got five and lost three others. I also had another half doz. hits that I missed. I got one brown and rainbow and they both were over 20"in the others 15" to 18"in real nice fish, Some days I just don't know which to go., turkey hunting or fishing, oh yes I play a lot of golf, so everyday is decision time, and they say retirement is easy.

This year more than any other pass years I have been hearing more multiple shots from people turkey hunting. It use to be if you heard one shot, you would tell your self that someone got one. If you heard two shots ,then you would tell your self that one got away. Not just one day, but everyday. I have heard two, three and as many as six shots all at once. This is not later in the day, but first thing in the morning. I don't know if people just are not taken there time or they are just getting to excited. Just this morning i was sitting out on my back deck listening for turkeys and heard three shots at 5:45 am one after the other, so I know someone was shooting at a turkey.I don't know if I want to be out there with those kinds of hunters in the turkey woods. What are your thoughts on this?
-
I was up on the back road hoping to hear a turkey this evening. I like to sit there because I can hear anything for a good half mile all around. This spot is on top of the hill and is a flat 100 yard stretch before dropping down off the hill. It is also a natural funnel for anything that wants to go from one woods to the other.side. I have seem all kinds of animals cross while sitting there. I have seem turkeys , deer , bear, fishercats and coyote cross, but tonight was a first for me when the bobcat stepped out. It came out 25 yards in front of my truck. It stopped and looked at my truck and then just walked across. It looked to be a young female about 20lbs. It was brown/tan in color. I had my camera with me and tried to get a picture of it through my windshield but all I got was reflection from the glass.I was happy to see it. I have seem others when hunting deer in other places, but this was a first for up there.

6:05 am bird down , 1"in. spurs, 10 1/2" beard . My guess of weight 20 lbs. Took 10 min to call in. He only gobbled three or four times, Time to get him cleaned up and take it down to my brother and then on to some trout fishing. Good luck to all.
-
Good luck to all , be safe and shoot straight.

I usually fish the west branch Delaware all the time , but this year I have had a lot going on so I haven't got down as much as I like. I did hear they are starting to get a few now with the warmer weather Now with the start of turkey tomorrow maybe I will do some hunting in the morning and fishing in the afternoon.
