    Wind was crazy out there this morning. Had 2 doe walk the trail I took in this morning. They finally caught my scent and spooked. They were 25 to 30 yds out in the field and I was 15 yards into the tree line. Nothing else was moving but the trees and leaves whipping on by. Had to get down to go to soccer this morning. Done til Thursday as I took it off. Good luck out there everyone.

    11.5.16 am Wind was blowing pretty good on way in but didn't hear anything crashing off. Climbed up and settled in. Scanning the woods revealed a small buck about 60yds out at 8:50am. Sat til 10:30 and headed to down to see my MIL and help her get some wood stacked. My FIL is in Colorado on an Elk/Muley hunt which started today. Ate lunch shot the bow and then headed back in at 1:30. Thought to myself, something has to move this afternoon. Swirling winds were noisy but the would die down once in a while. I heard some noise behind me and look to see a flock of turkeys about 30 yards away scratching and pawing at the leaves. This was about 2:30. Sat until 6 and got down before any deer decided to keep me in the stand late. Very slow day today but 8 hours outside is better than 8 hours inside at work. Plan to hit it at first light tomorrow until 9 and then to the dome for soccer.

    Lol that is awesome! Love the pic of him with his trophy. My buddy did the same thing several years ago before I hunted with him. Now when we hunt at his camp, the Arrow stand is still used to this day and the Arrow is still there in the tree.

    10 or 12 thunder chickens just made a ton of noise behind me about 40 yards scratching at the leaves. Too far for pic. Wishing wind would stop or let up a touch. Barely heard them.

    I'm back in too, not sure why, but I am. Cam is showing all night pics and 2 pics during day on Tuesday. Very slow here and only 1 scrape in the general area. Fingers crossed!

    Congrats. I 1 small one spotted about an hour ago 60yds out. Tons of squirrels though. It's like a parade of them.

    No stitches, just throbbing and my trigger finger is fine so I'm in the game for this weekend!

    So I shot a few arrows after work in preparation for tomorrow's hunt. Try to shoot everyday to stay in form and build confidence. I pulled the last arrow to the left and hit the foam target really close to the side where the foam is packed super tight. Wasnt budging easily. Couldnt pull back through with broadhead on and don't want to push through and rip fletchings. Stupid me slipped my fingers in between the blades to unscrew it without a wrench and the rest is history. Momentary lapse of reason.

    Just a reminder broadheads ARE sharp, like really sharp. Bled like a stuck pig for 45 minutes but got it to stop. No need for stitches thankfully but thumb and middle finger are throbbing. Be careful everyone.

    My guess is that he's getting ready for this weekend and out shooting his x bow and scouting. He does'nt hunting with a vertical bow so this is his pre season. Just a guess though. Love his shirt too - "My momma says I'm special"

    Wife and kids bought me 4 of them for Fathers day. Love em. $10/ 4pack at Kohls. And the beer inside is solid but no comparison to Jay's selection tonight @ 18%abv. Go whoever wins!!!

    Congrats Papist on a helluva great buck. And my hats off to you for your persistence and dedication in finding your trophy. Lots of hunters can learn a lesson from your story, old and new. Thanks for updating all of us.

    I picked up a Bushnell 12mp this year for $60 at Field and Stream. Night pics are OK, daytime ones are superb IMO.

    That's some serious organization going on separating by type. Mighty impressed. Anything in the Orange Reeses wrapper is my favorite. Ill be raiding them throughout the week. We had almost 250 kids tonight. Started handing out at 605 and turned the light out at 8. Only 8 pieces of candy left from 2- 95 pc bags and 6 smaller bags. Only handed out one piece per kid too.
