Why? They are either archery equipment or they are not. 2 seasons - all bows in bow. All guns in gun.
-
No. Until change is made - as Phade said.
-
No because numerous others take bobcats every year in NY and there is a lot of real proof of them other than alleged sightings. See the difference?

The list of vendors boycotting continues to grow.

Who wants Yearling Buck Protection with ARs in their area?

What is the difference if they shoot a 1.5 if it has 6+pt's instead of a crotch or fork? You must have missed my questions to you on post #199?- 320 replies

Someone is a clown for shooting a 1.5 4 pt. But not a clown for shooting a 1.5 (or even a 2.5) 8 pt? Tell me you only shoot mature bucks that you think may be at least 4.5. Otherwise you are the same as the hunter shooting a 4 pt - both are shooting immature bucks.- 320 replies

Then find and post some proof - like the people seeing coyotes did.

Not if they are Identifying dogs, bobcats, house cats etc as mountain lions.

Not at all. Saying they are showing their true colors and in doing so deserve the reaction and not support at this point. They have brought their politics to the show. If they rescind and run their show in a non political manner, then we move ahead. If they don't, the list of non attendees should double + for next year.

From a post on AT: THIS MAY SHINE A LITTLE LIGHT ON THIS EASTERN OUTDOOR EXPO Did you know.... Reed Elsevier is the actual company The exhibitions division is Reed Exhibitions... They are also involved with the New York Times and supporting the gun control. There have been suits/petitions filled against them by Members of the medical and scientific communities, which purchase and use many journals published by Reed Elsevier, agitated for the company to cut its links to the arms trade. Two UK academics, Dr. Tom Stafford of Sheffield University and Dr Nick Gill, launched petitions calling on Reed Elsevier to stop organizing arms fairs. A subsidiary, Spearhead, organised defense shows, including an event where it was reported that cluster bombs and extremely powerful riot control equipment were offered for sale. ......... this is just a start to it all... if you look them up, they have extensive involvements with the government and rely on support from our government, so now it is all falling together as to why they are truly backing the government on this gun ban and NOT the American and our Amendments!

In my mind, voicing your opinion while at their show (supporting it) will not sway them in the least. At that point they have your money and support. They are about profit only - effecting their bottom line is the only way to get their attention. Their action was in response to a complaint by one unnamed vendor.

DEC isn't saying they want 1.5 protection. Hunters who want to shoot 2.5's (young, immature bucks) are the ones whining for it.- 320 replies

It is a sportsman show put on by a group that has decided to go public with their lack of support for the 2nd. Sometimes there is collateral damage in a just cause. Those vendors not going have decided their loss, which for some is a major part of their business, is worth the cost. Demonstrates just how serious this is. Good for all who boycott - both vendor and attendee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If hunters are shooting 2.5's instead of 1.5's, what is gained? Still young bucks and far from maturity. Is it a mounter at 2.5 and still immature? If 2.5's and 3.5's are the goal, there are 100's of them posted every year in NY Outdoor News. And I bet only a small % get sent to them.- 320 replies

So do I. A good number of the pro AR's say it is because they want to have more mature bucks in the herd and for them to pursue. Fact is many/most of them are will take a 2.5 or 3.5 with the right number of points instead of targeting actual mature bucks. If honest, they would admit that what they want are a little bigger set of antlers, but not enough to wait for an actual mature buck. AR will no doubt result in some increase of 2.5's and 3.5's. But as long as these are the accepted target, the number of actual mature 4.5's + will be minimal at best.- 320 replies

See the post above this one. Once again - try the question: "How many need to wander in to account for more "sightings" here than states where they even have seasons?"
-
Not at all. Just pointing out that a large % of the "sightings" in NY are for black panthers/ml/ cougars whatever. Now answer the questions.

How many need to wander in to account for more "sightings" here than states where they even have seasons? Where do the black ones come from that are claimed in a big number of the "sightings"? Show some proof and silence the doubters.

What antler restriction does this? What antler restriction stops the best of the 1.5's and nearly all the 2.5's from being highly pressured/sought after targets?- 320 replies

Shooting 1.5 and 2.5 6 points won't give you many 100+ inch bucks. They don't mature when getting shot when young just because they have a certain number of points.- 320 replies
