  1. Funny how all the anti's are SURE of what would happen but refuse to back it up with any statistics or proof from any of the areas where crossBOWS have been legal. Duck, run and refuse everytime after being called on it. Obviously it is because they have so few facts, wild azz supposition is all they have.
  2. Try handling one - heavy, akward, and need a lot of horizontal clearance and has no interest for me using one. But they are archery equipment - are taxed as such - and should be allowed in any bow season that is not primitive. Exaggerating the percieved advantages when in fact there are many disadvantages does not change that.
  3. There you go forgetting about ground blinds and treestands - whose purpose is to hide movement from the deer. I have 17 stands set up - not one has a rail on it only 2 have a provision for one. I didn't put them on because they basically get in the way more then help. And I could not imagine trying to manuver a crossBOW around on one steathily and have more then a very limited range of shot possibilities.
  4. Bubba - standard joke in my town is a blood test is required to get married to prove you are related. Just trying to lighten it up.
  5. Sounds like you do it for the challange. Must mean you have been using a recurve or longbow instead of a compound with letoff, site and a trigger. Good for you.
  6. WNY - Don't hold your breath waiting for a reply - you will turn very blue ;D Chevy - you made the claim - back it up let us laugh at the foolishness of it.
  7. Care to post some actual proof of that claim? Poachers caught around here generally choose the 22 cal by a huge margin. Never heard of a crossBOW being used at all. And if they did, whether or not they are a legal weapon in any season has no bearing on a poacher using one. Not illegal to own one now. By your logic, 22 rifles should be outlawed as well.
  8. Skin and quarter asap. Then into a fridge for a day or 2 for rigor to pass.

DAS recurve - 54# at my draw.
  10. So the whole arguement against crossBOWS basically boils down to one thing - 1% letoff. A few have decided that 99% letoff is ok, but 100% is the devils spawn that will ruin everything. ;D
  11. Standard attempt at deflection - and a poor one. Uses explosives as propellent - not a string.
  12. I am sure when the crossgun is invented, they will take a look at it and decide what season to put it in. Until then, it is simply speculation. I imagine it will be powered by gunpowder like all guns are.
  13. Was the bow season intended for weapons like these? Or things like these.
  14. Nice try, but you are reaching and making a poor attempt to twist what I have been saying all along. Which is there is no reason to not all allow all archery equipment in the bow season. Do this and all hunters have the choice of what ARCHERY equipment they wish to use should they want to participate in the bow season. To say that advocating the inclusion of all BOWS in the bow season somehow equates to anything else is simply disengenuous and an arguement that indicates a position based on emotion and not facts.
  15. Simple - allowing all archery equipment to be used in the bow season - including that 2400 years old.
  16. For the most part, I shoot Bullshop's 460 to 495 gr conical sized to .504. Start with your thumb and load with just the wght of the ramrod with a little pressure. The NE's come sized at .503 - work fine in most .504, but are a little loose in some - fouling shot usually takes care of it. I have a box of them - pm me your address and I'll send you a few to try. Dan at Bullshop live off the grid in Alaska and only casts a few months a year. Something like a 5 mile drive just to his mailbox! http://bullshop.gunloads.com/index.html
  17. It would be a great thing to let the hunter decide which option to use as they need to make choices. And the weather in bow season can be far more enjoyable to someone experiancing these conditions. An aging hunter has earned the right to choose.
