Have to go out and shoot well before season to make sure you have the skills. Nice shooting. A bow isn't a gun get out and shoot it.

Here in wny I have never seen a bear during hunting season. They are here and we have pics and personal sightings . I would shoot it without a second thought

243 is a great deer rifle. Can you go bigger sure... But you have to shoot what you comfertable and gives you the most confidence !!!

When hunting a new farm I would be doing a lot of preseason scouting. Learn every inch and get a good topo map of the property. Then make you own map to over lay from scouting. Label bedding areas/food/ travel corridors / and funnels.
