  1. A friend has a few henry's and loves them so I am going to go and shoot his a few times. Thanks for the opinions guys!!
  2. Yea I like the $$$$ of the rossi but the Henry is American made and also such a sweet looking rifle
  3. I said I don't need a tack driver, but I would like something at least in a 4-5 inch group range.I know my friends 44 deerfield at 100 will do that with most ammo but another guy at the range couldn't touch the target with a bullet if he tried another time.Minute of coyote is all I need...that way I'm good when a deer comes in also
  4. Yeah Ive seen those also.Only problem with the rugers is I have heard people having nightmares with accuracy. While I don't need it to be a tack driver I still want to be able to take a deer in a reasonable woods hunting situation
  5. Check out BUDSGUNSHOP.COM prices are a bit better than the listed prices
  6. Although I see they offer a 454 casual model.....always wanted one of those!!!LOL
  7. No scope for this one,it will either have rifle sights or maybe a peep
  8. I know it will either be a lever or a older Ruger semi auto.I like the Henry's,Marlin's and winchester but figured I'd get everyones input. It will be a walking/fun gun and thats about it.So 100 yards or less will be the max shots.

5 pin sight that's set up for 20,30,40,50,60 but I try to keep the shots on deer under 35 but not to go over 40.To many things can go wrong at long ranges
  10. Same here,my 308 feeds great and haven't had a problem yet.My 3006 is older and is tight but you can feel a total difference in the 2.The 3006 is just butter!!!
  11. I personally know 3 people that would tell you to run away from the mossbergs. One was won at a banquet the other 2 were purchase. One very inaccurate, one had ejection problems and another had loading issues the 2 with loading/eject problems were fixed by mossberg though.Besides that I like mossberg for shotguns!
  12. If the action is open(= no ability to fire),the gun is unloaded and the hammer in the safe position there is no worry.I understand what you're saying but follow the simple rules of gun handling and you're safe http://training.nra.org/nra-gun-safety-rules.aspx
  13. Ive always wanted a 44 mag lever gun.It can double for a ton of situations.Easy to carry, most hold 9 or 10 rounds if memory serves me right.Nice big bullet, kill deer to 100 yards no problem and I have a ton of ammo/reloading stuff for my 44mag already
  14. I love my 7600's!!! I have one set up with a scope for stand sitting and another with a peep for walking/drives
  15. good to know,If I had a need for a new smoke pole I'd be looking at a 45
  16. One of the most accurate muzzleloader I had was a CVA 45.I noticed its tough to find bullets for them now though or is that just me???
  17. Anyone have a 8F they arent going to use?I know its a easy tag to get but I wanted to try to get a tag for some new state land I scouted this past weekend
  18. I was working nights and had my wife burst in to the house to tell me that my uncle had died ( not related to the horrible attacks) and I needed to watch our daughter after a few hours of sleep. As I was sitting there with my 3 month old watching TV I thought "WTF am I that messed up from lack of sleep....this isn't real"I then called my uncles best friend to tell him the bad news and he said " are you watching this S***???!!!" then I let him know my uncle had passed and I heard the phone drop. One of worst days in my life for a ton of reasons, lost close family, lost fellow americans in the towers,PA field and the pentagon and lost some of my innocence of my youth when I really saw how ruthless these people can be.Keep your love ones close my friends
  19. check out the rackpacker http://therackpacker.com
  20. I owned a 750 and it was a pure beast!! What will you ask for the 01?Next year with taxes I am replacing my oldy but goody Yamahog
