Looking for some easy going people who would like to get together a couple of days a month to enjoy a few rounds of Trap, Skeet or Sporting Clays. I have most often gone to Suffolk County Trap & Skeet (Yaphank) and Long Island Shooting Range of Brookhaven but will travel. We could rotate locations and games. I am not very experienced but have taken a couple of lessons (with my daughter) and use to go twice a month before my shootin buddy passed away. I'm just taking a shot here (pun intended) and am pretty flexible about where and when. We could post days when we get together and others may come by for a round or two. I was wondering if any of you hard working lucky stiffs able to make their own maple sugar syrup ever boiled some down to granules? For years now one of the secrets to my blueberry, blackberry and especially raspberry pies is dusting the top crust with maple sugar granules. But man is it expensive!

I saw that he tried to avoid a legal road block and nearly ran over a officer to do it. I saw him reach for his side twice before being shot. Law abiding citizens do not run road blocks, The whole situation could have been avoided at the first road block. By avoiding the first roadblock he placed himself and everyone in the vehicle with him in danger. Civil disobedience in protest is one thing. Every organized protester I have ever known knows fully that it will end with their arrest. Putting someone in danger, officers or other protesters is not right and not what civil disobedience is about. The article i posted deals with the elected officials who fed the protesters information and details about what the FBI was planning to do and how. Imagine if that happened with regards to the Walls Street protesters or any other minority based group.

Doc, if it was missed or ignored the lead issue concerns high velocity ammo that shatters on impact creating tiny shards of lead in otherwise edible game meat. Lead pellets also are an issue since some go undiscovered until being eaten. you are correct that lead has been used since the invention of fire arms. However the issue of bullet shatter is a factor of modern time and modern ammo. Now, please stop with the false and misleading cry that lead has been used for centuries and is therefore fine.

Yes! The pack rod I carried had both a spinner and fly casting reel and reversible handle to fit both. I warn you approach streams & brooks carefully and if possible being mindful of where you cast your shadow. Stream fish spook easy! If you're up to the challenge try 4 or 2 pound line.

Back in the day when i hiked all over the northeast 2 things always went with me, my Loomis pack rod and my AR7 (Charter Arms). Stream fishing is difficult but fun. Go for it! The DEC has a Google Earth overlay just for stream fishing.
