Don't exagerrate, Steve..What I REALLY did was to LASSO the bull and then RIDE him back to the river, and then shot him right beside my raft.

There are ADVANTAGES to being short..<wink>... Confusious say, Crowded elevator smell DIFFERENT to Midget.....

That's a GOOD thing ! Since Bubba is a red blooded American Boy, I suspect that he, like the rest of us, has only 2 emotions...HUNGRY and HORNY.... My idea of a perfect date is a girl who shows up at my door naked with a bucket of Kentucky Fried Chicken under one arm and a 12 pack of beer under the other..

That guy kinda looks like a Lebanese Walter Matthau...

I'm gonna send her a PM..I gotta find out who her DENTIST is... That girl could sit in the kitchen and nibble your ear in the living room !

For some reason I can't download, Sits... All I get is a still picture of a camel jockey with his sister's scarf around his neck.

Most years I do quite a bit of squirrel hunting in the early season, which opens Sept 1. Typically most of the bucks I see during the first week of Septmber still are in velvet, but by mid month, most of them have shed it.

Having a wife does not necessarily make one a male, these days. One of my best friends has a daughter who is a lesbian. She recently married another woman. He told me he was supposed to give away the bride. I asked him , " How do you know which one is the bride ?"

Steve 863... Can't you get ANYTHING right..??.. Those M-1s were MAUVE, not lavender.... Am I going to have to hit you with my purse AGAIN ??..

And they are only effective at VERY close range...

Actually, Ants, the City of San Francisco has a city militia group called the San Fran Rump Rangers. They carry pink M-16s but instead of shooting bullets they squirt hot yogurt.

She could eat an ear of corn through a picket fence !

You may be right, Russell...I served aboard a destroyer with a Chief Boatswain's Mate who claimed that when he retired from the Navy he planned to ship aboard a Greek Vaseline Freighter where all the doorways were three feet off the deck.

Actually, I heard this a year or two ago and MAY have even posted it on this forum. Please bear with me if this is a repeat. My girlfriend tells me I repeat myself a LOT. Did I say that I repeat myself a lot ? An old Marine Gunnery Sergeant , upon his retirement from the Corps........ " When I joined the Corps, it was ILLEGAL to be homosexual. Now they tell me it is OPTIONAL. I'm getting the hell out before they make it MANDATORY."

Hot broads... ??... Nope... One time I saw the fat girl up the road taking a leak behind a hemlock shrub... Looked like a grizzly bear with its head cut off... Does that count ??

I agree that 2" groups at 100 are more than adequate, especially for a lever gun. However, if you are getting better groups with factory ammo, there is room for improvement with your handloads. Since you were getting 1" groups with the 200 grain bullet, the first thing to try in your handloads is the same bullet, if it is available to you. If you can't get the leverevolution, try another 200 grainer. If bullet weight does not improve your groups, try some different powders. Every rifle is an individual . My .280, for example, groups well with certain 140 and 160 grain bullets, but I have never got 150 grainers to group well in it..

Ya beat me to it, Covert.... Those pumacougars that the state stocked to control the coyote population that they stocked to control the deer population at the behest of the insurance companies, ATE all of the elk.. It's only logical..Elk are a NATURAL prey of them there pumacougars...

She'd better thumb back the hammer on that single action, or the slimeball will take it away from her and beat her over the head with it.

My Dad and all of his family hunted and fished... That was true of most of my classmates, also...Back in the 60s it was kinda the THING TO DO out here in rural Steuben County. I got my first BB gun when I was about 8 and terrorized anything small enough to fall prey to it, from chickadees to chipmunks.. When I was 10, my Dad let me hunt on our property for squirrels, rabbits and woodchucks with his single shot Stevens .22. On Christmas Day 1962, when I was 12, I recieved my first real gun, a Winchester M69 .22... Hunting and fishing have always been my passion...

They can dress however they want and carry whatever gear they choose, as long as it is legal. Why is this suddenly an issue ? Black rifles and " Solja" type gear have been legal ( and available) for many years in many areas of NY plus dozens of other states for years... RAMBO type movies have been around for many years also..I don't see why there should be a big increase in "tactical' type gear at this point in time.. Nor does it bother me should it increase.. I'm a traditional type guy..I wore out a couple of red&black checked woolrich coats before I started wearing orange...I like walnut and blued steel, but if Joe Deerhunter down the road wants to hunt with his AR-15 or AK 47 ( equipped with the legally required 5 shot mag, of course) that is his perogative. Hunters have been using semi-auto rifles for over 100 years, like the Rem Model 8 ....The "8" stands for 1908....

6.8 SPC Fir Deer? and in AR15 platform?
Pygmy replied to Buckwild96's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
Sorry WNYBuck... The stainless and the big objective variable TRUMPS the walnut... Besides, I think Encores are as ugly as AR-15s...hehehehe... There are some attractive single shots out there..Ruger # 1 is a good example.. I also like Remington Rolling Blocks, Sharps and even the lowly Springfield Trapdoor has its appeal.. -

I have nothing against the fact that they are semi auto. I just think that they are UGLY as sin!!...... -
6.8 SPC Fir Deer? and in AR15 platform?
Pygmy replied to Buckwild96's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
The 6.8 is a nice fit for the AR platform, but then so is the .308, which would be more versatile.. All that said, I wouldn't be seen carrying one of those monstrosities around the woods. I'd rather be caught carrying a nickel plated Ladysmith with pink grips. However, I respect differences in taste. What is ugly to me is beautiful to someone else ( like WNYBuckhunter).. I like walnut, blued metal and light, graceful fixed power scopes, where he likes composite, stainless and big ugly variable scopes...hehehehehe.... To each his own.
