  1. Hahahaha Jeremy, we kill 50-80 coyotes a year , go look at,the coyote section ya can hear.more all ya want , pictures to prove it, my.uncle shot him running with 5 dogs 50 yards behind the coyote , " when the dogs are 50 yards or.closer unless a yotes real wiped there haulin balls," my.uncle benched off.his knee caught the coyote right in, spine just above.his tail sat him down, right there, dogs surrounded him and a 22 was used to finish him off,
  2. 200 yards running ? That's a chip shot, IV personally seen multiple coyotes shot at 3-353-360-480 yards full out bookin it through fields, only done it once myself as there hard to hit usually keep shootin and ya can compensate, , dont be a hater on gun hunters just because you can't pull off the shot or are afraid to , typical douchebag
  3. for an over the counter "stock" rifle they are the most accurate gun out there IMO, I have a model 11 in a 243 and its a 400 yard gun and iv shot to 500 at steel plates, 2 furthest kills were 312 yard headshot on a walking coyote and 380 yards on a woodchuck, accu trigger takes some getting used to when shooting at live targets , there deadly, Remington 700's are the best deer gun iv come across, take a beating and still e reliable, good luck,
  4. I'd like to eventually invest in the muddy hang on stand and sticks that there's only a rope stlye hook up pull it tight slip through 2 rubber stopers and step on em and it uses the angle of the rope to hold the steps tight, there preetyy cool check em out, I only hunt hang ons love em
  5. Dont pay so much attention to moon phases , weather conditions play the biggest role in a deers movement by far, studies have show with tracking collars moon phases have made no difference , it may seem as they do but its because every one assumes its a good or bad moon to hunt , so they don't or change their rutine specifically to the moon phase and can hurt your sightings significantly
  6. ADK IV always want to track a buck like the benoits do, looks like alot of fun
  7. Yea I thought about the high corn right after I hit reply, I dont know exactly where curtins property lines are , but from the big dip on mcabe go up the snowmobile trail up into those woods would be a good place to go in, I do alot of my scouting on snowmobile after dark , I know one thing for sure is mt hunger has things all screwed up over there I had a beautiful spot picked out on tommys to only find a out there's a mt hunger tree stand 40 yards from the spot, you could also park off 20 by baileys old trailer that burned down and access there but all up hill , follow that hedgerow up along dick Barnes field and it should drop you into those woods , but like ya said wind is a big factor, with a west wind it would give ya leway to circle down wind of the woods
  8. Went to the last 3d shoot of the year today shot a 320 out of 400 , but never gets old of hearing people 3-4 targets behind you and the sound of an arrow smackin a tree or a down log, reminds me of the oh so,horrible times I had before I knew what I,was really doing, some people just, dont put the practice and fine tuning of equipment and form that's needed to be able to shoot great,
  9. Rule of thumb IV always stood by and its worked so,far , dont hunt fields or go near fields in the morning , get in 2 hours before sun up and catch those bucks coming from, the fields to bed, you know where I hunt, I have to go in super early because the swamp is alive pre sun up, I have to get in,2 hrs early down the tracks and slip into the pockets of bedding area and catch, them coming back,in onto the swamp very first light, for you hunting across the road from you house , go to the top of mc cabe park back so they, dont see your truck and glass right till dark , see where those bucks are coming out a few nights in a row , back track, from where there coming from about 150 yards and set up shop, the 150 yards will be there area to "stage" before they hit the corn fields when, dark, falls, just what I would do seeings there's alot of field and not alot of woods there, gotta find that sweet spot inbeteeen bed and food, till rut of course then, seek funnels where does frequent, good luck this season hope we can both get good bucks down, this year,
  10. Fished lower black tonight and dud alright hooked up prolly 60 times all,day landed 3, by buddy landed 5 we both came home with our limits so id say, overall good day, ton of fish there but the best has yet to come I believe,
  11. Haha its a true statement not bold
  12. They don't kill other dogs to eat them most generally.. They kill them them because all k9s eat meat, they know a grey fox or red fox is eating there food source they take them out so there's more rabbits and such for them to feed on, they just happen to think the same about scruffy
  13. been lookin for the same gun in a 7mm rem mag cant seem to find me one
  14. 1000 % its a coyote... seen plenty of em killed. different parts of the state have varying dominent color genes, killed and seen more killed then any one on here ya can trust me on this one.
  15. I fished the ball park from sun up till about 5am and killed em! went to the ice box till dark and fish were piling in, uncle went to snake island and the ice box this morning and they killed em also, fish are on there way up! ill be there every weekend till bow season!
  16. Got a 7j id swap for a 6s or a 7m, know a few people who would swap there 7js for a 6s or 7m also.
  17. Take broad head off replace with new one, back in the quiver see how many things ya can kill with the same arrow ,
  18. Have a area that's wet on the outskirts of my swamp, good 1/4-1/2 acre area that's overrun with tall grasses and them stupid prickers, id like to plant a food plot next year and in gathering all my info and plans together now, idea was to weed eat all the grass down rake it off , round up it, and rotor till it with a garden tiller walk behind, ground is obviously real moist but no so wet that ya sink, just soft ground where it hold moisture, any one have experience with a seed ,blend, crop that could florish in this "marsh" area, any help if appreciate from you professionals
  19. I got 3 brand new rage chisels once I need new ones I think I'm gonna give the shwackers a try, let me know how they are
  20. Check out the song " white tail ridge " on YouTube, good song , gonna be my on the way to the woods song from now on, opening day breakfast with all the family hunters when gun season hits, and opening night whole family (me,cousins and uncles , go to a apiece of land my grandfather use to own but lost to the bank when his house and farm burt down 30 years ago gratefully enough a nice family friend bought it and we still can hunt it,
  21. So your tellin me its illegal to hunt next to a Apple tree is what your gettin at, I happen to step on one and crush it on the way to my stand and its juices spray out I must be baiting deer eh? What if the apples fell that close together and happens to be a pile of them, your trolling even though you dont think so, ya made a big deal over some apples under a Apple tee knowing people were gonna react to your comments, preety sure that was the definition of trolling, you must be retired and have nothing better to do,
  22. But food plots aren't baiting ! Come on what joke is that, its not natural, it was planted there intentionally to feed deer , but not bait, kid piles up some apples under a APPLE tree and biz jumps on his back, your the kinda guy that discourages kids from getting into the sport by criticizing and being ignorant,
  23. rut is kickin hard come opening day, first 2 weeks of gun the chasin is non stop, find a hard woods ridge over lookin a flat in the woods, almost "bowl" shaped then ya can shoot down, if theres another ridge that goes down hill after that flat its even better , idk what it is but I think them does try and run up and down hill to get the buck off of them, opning morning I saw 3 small bucks and 25 does chase for an hour until 2 yotes busted em up, I took care of that problem, all the deer returned to the same area to chase as the commotion calmed down, end up killing a nice 92" 8 point 2nd weekend in at 1;45 in the after noon, ya gotta go with the flow when the deer start chasing find where those does are funneling and traveling and a lot of em, sit and wait a buck will come its only a matter of time, uncle always told let the first 2-3 bucks go, he said hes watched a doe come through, 20 mins later a spike on the trail, half hour later a 4 point, 2 hrs later a 6 point on and on, a mature buck smells a hot doe with buck scent that's not his on the trail he will chase to find the doe and the buck harassing his does, good luck!
  24. your release makes no difference in your draw? I shot a wrist strap trigger release at 29" draw, went to a finger thumb release still a 29" draw. the string still needs to set where its suppose to no matter the release used, a release doesn't make your draw any shorter or any longer .if your using a wrist strap release it should be adjustable just for your finger length, don't believe me get 3-4 different releases together and shoot em, your draw is STILL the same
  25. Yes measure your wing span and divide by 2.5, mine is 28.8" round up im a 29" draw
