  1. I should add that I haven't worn it yet hunting. My deal braker with rain suits is how quiet it is. The jacket is nice and thick to so it looks very warm
  2. I just bought that nomad set that is being advertised on facebook. Brand new company this year. I like it. Fits very nicely, and conforms nice. Super quiet too.
  3. Thanks for the input guys. Yea it's definetley a hard habit to break
  4. Anybody ever been victim of peeking at the moment of release? Use to be a real problem in my early days. I would want to look up over my peep site at that moment of release to see where my arrow is going sailing my arrow over the deers back. My dad missedd a nice buck the other night and it sounds like he may of done the same thing
  5. Saw a big buck this morning. Moved about 30 yards in 45 mins cause that's all the doe was doing. Scrapping and rubbing all around her like crazy. Then when she went running off he was right after her. Had to be in heat
  6. ^^^ AMEN. 100 yards is a long shot for a slug gun for crying out loud...
  7. I think it's pretty easy to justify that 60, 70, 80 yards plus is a risky shot with a bow. One that a lot of people won't support. Put distance of shot on the horizontal axis, and risk on the vertical axis. Draw a line staring at zero and go straight up with it. Sorry but a 20 yard shot is inevitably a lot less risky than 80. Can't argue with that. How mad would you be if someone in your hunting party took a shot at your numero uno at long range and wounded him?
  8. Why not change the name of this thread to huntingcolorado.com
  9. So that 55 is definitely an outlier. 10 20 25 and 37. For the four on my wall.

  11. What's your next furthest shot on a buck hanging on your wall with a bow if you don't mind me asking
  12. No need to make assumptions, we all know what that secretly means. Maybe we need to redefine "effective range." I believe it to mean having the up most probability to kill a deer in a certain range where the probability doesn't alter at different yardages within that range. Sorry WNY, but 80 yards as an effective range is absurd
  13. Boy would I have one heck of a game room if my effective range was 80 yards on a whitetail deer with a bow. That's like having a slug gun during the rut.
  14. You just said that your effective range is 40 but you would shoot a big buck at 50 to 60... that's messed up.
  15. It's totally an opinion. No different than someone telling me donald trump will be a good president. It's absurd
  16. In the past 2 weeks: About 10 to 15 pictures neer a large acre green field Under 10 pictures in a apple orchard 20 or so pictures near a corn/soy bean 5 acre combo Over 300 pictures on a ridge flooded with acorns.
  17. Hey I'm not saying it can't be done. I totally believe everybody stating they have shot game at that yardage, and if they smoked em, great for them. I'm saying don't expect a whole bunch of people to support you in taking that shot. It's absurd.
