  1. More sales and deals will come around the closer we get towards spring. Whitetail institute sends me emails at least once a month usually with deals on certain seed mixes. I screwed up and should of bought some the last time I got a email because it was a pretty good deal. Usually it's like a buy 2 get one free or buy 2 at a lower price type sale. I'm probably going to pick up some more Fusion and overseed my last years Fusion plot a little plus expand it.
  2. I tried the WI Fusion last year and some Deer Creek stuff. Both companies grew very well considering the conditions. The Fusion came in a little thinner than the deer creek clover but each plot was hammered by the deer. Hard to say if they preferred either or. Does anyone know who makes the Cabelas brand food plot seeds? They have a decent price on a 50LB bag of clover that I thought about using some gift cards on. Was wondering if anyone has used their stuff as well.
  3. Nope a wall won't stop those. That's what the coast guard and Air Force is for. We stop those things on a daily basis. Would just be business as usual. If you think that drug smugglers will just turn to using 747s I think your wrong there...planes aren't easy to hide. Especially big ones. Lots of paperwork to go along like flight logs with FAA blah blah. Both boats and planes are easy to spot and even easier to track. If they plan on using either one to move people they would need big ones. And that's never gonna happen. Now that I think about it....we should encourage the use of planes and boats. Will be easy targets to blow up!
  4. OMG stop! Your making me want to whip out my credit card right now! Lmao!
  5. I'm under no illusion that Mexico will pay for the wall directly. Indirectly, trump is going to drain their economy and has already begun to do so by strong arming our corporations to bring jobs back here. This influx of capital back into the US could indirectly fund the wall if they so decided. The huge plant Ford just decided to back out of in Mexico has no left the area in Mexico wondering what the hell they are gonna do now. Bad for mexicos economy but good for ours. The wall is more than just a barrier. It's also a statement and visual aid to the fact that we aren't going to stand idly by as illegals, criminals and terrorists attempt to gain access. Our border now is a pathetic little wall or no wall at all. Drug runners just tunnel underneath and get by. Maybe this new wall trump dreams of will be highly advanced with tech to monitor activity below the surface to catch people trying to tunnel. We just don't know yet what he's got planned. I know he's been quoted as saying this won't be some little dinky wall. That it will be a massive one. Build it or not I don't personally care much but it will be interesting to see how it turns out regardless. One other thing to think about...if we do some serious damage to mexicos economy, that's going to upset a lot of its citizens and possibly cause a surge of immigration our way. Or possible violent retaliation. Either way I'm sure people living near the border might sleep a little better knowing there's a more solid secured border. O and I guess we could toss in the idea that such a wall could be a strategic defense asset in the slim possibility of any foreign invading military force...
  6. Same here. A few buddies have started using them and I'm jealous when they are like hey check out this pic I just got. Lol. Would love to have one or two to use in those areas I don't want to keep walking back into
  7. Have some gift cards to cabelas I might use up on some seed just for the heck of it. Last year I bought almost everything from Deer Creek Seeds. I was very happy with everything I got from them. Their clover especially was awesome. Even through the drought it grew like crazy and the deer hammered it. I'll be planting a lot more clover this year for sure. Once the deer figured out what the turnips were they hammered those too so another round of those are in order. I have a new bigger field I'll be breaking ground on this spring that I'm not quite sure what I want to plant there. Still have some time to decide. I have access to tons and tons of wheat from work. I don't know what specific strain or anything like that but I do know which ones are summer or winter wheat. Anyone looking for some wheat let me know. Be glad to grab you some.
  8. The spartan cell cams are really peaking my interest lately. I may have to try one out this year
  9. In other news. Trump moves ahead with plans to build the wall! Meetings with department of interior and US Army corps have already begun planning and cost analysis. Whether you hate trump or not, the way he forces his way through the political hurdles and keeps his word is utterly impressive.
  10. Better tell the city to stop eating. Most all flour coming your way was made by trump supporters! Better boycott anything made with flour now
  11. Well duh. Like Apples are round and so is a baseball. Both the same damn things didn't you know! [emoji849]
  12. Has nothing to do with the difference between hunting or political reasons to boycott. Has everything to do with the reasons WHY people are saying to boycott. As you dem libs seem to also forget, knowing the TRUTH behind your actions is how things should be done. Your boycotting over the decision of one person who owns a small share of the company. Seems pretty damn dumb if you step back and think about it. Under armour is a corporation. Decisions are made by more than one person and usually need a majority vote to approve big things. So as a entire company, under armour dropped a hunter for doing nothing more than following the laws. Just because some anti hunting jack offs disapprove, the company cuts ties and cowers away. The actions that led to the boycotts are two totally separate things. Idc who boycotts what. But at least come to the table with a solid damn good reason
  13. The guy has no concept of reality around him. Makes wild comparisons that have little to nothing to do with each other. LL Bean has 52 family owners if I remember correctly. ONE of them gave like 30 grand to a trump PAC. I hardly call that a massive donation by the company itself. Some of the owners donated to obamas campaign years ago as well.
  14. I find it funny you talk down about the people who keep your precious city running. Without us you'd all starve to death. Your city can not function or survive without the people outside of it bringing in the supplies you need. Your little bubble only exists because of us. Remember that
  15. Shot hoyt for years then went with my first bowtech 2 years ago, the carbon knight. Not even bowtechs top line bow and I've been nothing but impressed so far. Very quiet and my god is it fast. Anyone who uses HHA single pins, I use a number 20 sight tape, that can give ya a clue on how quick it's moving. I've had a itch to try elite bows though. I've heard great things about them except maybe some paint issues last year on some AT forum posts. But overall I think they make good stuff. I think I'll be upgrading bows again this year so it's probably gonna come down between a new elite or the new bowtech Reign 6. Parallel limb design has been around for a long time now, no reason to fear that. Bowtech had some issues years ago but that's been cleared up and I don't think anyone has those issues on any brand anymore. Not from what I've seen at least. I look forward to shooting a elite at the bow shop this spring though!
  16. And you see this behavior as acceptable? That's part of the problem right there. It's like the spoiled kid who never got his ass whipped as a youngin. You saying the media and dems are wanting to "poison" the public...that's acceptable to you?? As an American, anyone, any company and any party that attempts to "poison" the minds of citizens is a major damn problem in my book. You also state that there's such a "amazing amount of people" against trump. While it may be true that there are a lot of people against him. The number behind him is of equal size and if not even larger than against. While I know your going to instantly toss out "Clinton won the popular vote" to try and prove your point, let me point out that that is the SAME rhetoric that the Dems and media spewed to make you believe trump had ZERO chance of winning. If you and the rest of the dems haven't pulled your heads from the sand to realize that votes and polls don't accurately depict the true amount of supporters, all hope may be lost for you.... Trump supports are well known to be the silent majority. You've seen that first hand. Why you choose to mock and ignore that truth still to this day is seriously confusing if not pathetic. While the dems and Libs stomp their feet like school children trying to gain attention from the media, the ones who support trump and his ideas won't say a word and you'll never even know we were here....until Election Day [emoji41]
  17. Hmmm not quite. This is apples to oranges in comparison. Republicans fought Obama in their political theaters. They didn't wrangle up the media to help toss shit to see if it would stick. I certainly don't remember off hand at any point, the media or others acting the way the libs are right now. Did the Republicans hate Obama and his policies, yep. But that hate storm we have at the moment as absolutely not the same as the last 8 years in any way shape or form
  18. This mindset and attitude is what keeps the country from moving forward. Instead of the opposition sitting down like adults and listening and working WITH our POTUS to make the country better. The left would rather waste 4 years of time and money bashing the guy on every aspect of his life rather than spend the time working towards better things. 4 years is a short amount of time. One man can only get so much done in that amount of time with all the political BS he must wade through. Trump has already crushed every opposition against him and still continues to make good things happen even before Jan 20th regardless of the amount of people trying to bring him down. Could you just imagine what he could accomplish without having to waste his time defending himself...
  19. I think you have greed and selfishness confused with the self preservation of ones own life in a life and death situation. By nature, humans will do what's needed to survive in a life or death event. But there are plenty of people and even occupations that force people to choose others over themselves. Police, fire fighters, military, navy, secret service, the list can go on and on. So why is it that a kid fresh out of high school can risk his life to save your cat from a burning house, but our ELECTED politicians can't put the people's best interests before their own? Greed and selfishness. Neither one is forced upon anyone. It's a acted out trait that can be seen from a mile away if someone is paying attention. There's thousands if not millions of people out there who would love nothing more than to represent the people and gain nothing from it but a pat on the back and a thank you. But those people don't usually have millions of dollars behind them to get to the top political ranks. Our system is so corrupted and misguided that it would take many years to weed out the unworthy. Trump is not the answer to that problem, but he could be the start of a political reform.
  20. I'm about to be one of them if my days at work keep going the way they are going so far this week....hey boss! Gonna need another week!
  21. Came home empty handed last night [emoji30]. Another strike out in OH for us. 2nd year in a row we eat tag soup. Next year we will be trying a different area and block of state land. We did have plenty of fun and loads of laughs regardless, so the trip was absolutely not a bust. Looking forward to next years live from the woods thread and next season in general! Stay safe in the off season folks...time to switch gears to food plotting!
  22. Aaaaaaaaannnnnndddddd this is why Trump won. Whether or not you think of it as "reality". It's not the way it's supposed to go and needs to be corrected
  23. Watch Craigslist for older farm discs or even atv discs. I saw a nice atv disc a month or so ago for 400 bucks with a new cost of around 1000. There's god deals to be found! I have access to a old Ford 8n tractor so I'm on the lookout for a cheap older disc I can use with the ford this year
  24. I tried the groundhog max last spring. While it did turn the soil up, it beat the living crap out of my 4 wheeler. I put it on a literally brand new 2016 brute force 750 and it bent the hell out of 2 different hitches and even bent in my rear frame piece on my quad. After I saw it start damaging the frame I stopped and sent the groundhog max back. If you have a atv with a seriously strong hitch, the groundhog might be ok. But the hitch has to be very very strong and designed in a way that the vertical upwards pressure won't bend or break anything. There's a lot of force on the hitch once you start tilling, especially when you hit rocks and roots. My suggestion is to skip the groundhog and look into a well made pull behind disc.
  25. Well no luck on deer again today. Came very close to shooting a hog though! We first spotted him almost 400 yards away. Closest we got with a clear shot was 365 on the range finder. We tried to close the gap and we got within 70 yards but he spotted us and bolted down the hill through the thick nasty thorn bushes. Got our hearts pumping though! Lots of deer tracks so we know there's some in the area. Tomorrow is another day, hopefully will get a crack at something! https://vimeo.com/198763525
