Gave that trout lake a quick shot this morning with all you tips to no success. The wind was whipping which made it tough to jig where I really wanted to and pay attention to bottom depth by feel without a fish finder. Guess whose in the market for a fish finder that can be portable used for both kayaks and ice fishing? I imagine big time companies love remote work too. Once they can drop those high $$$ leases in NYC, reallocate $$$ from big functions and entertainment with clients, etc and a happier workforce equals greater productivity. Gotta prick them skins! That was always a fun trick my buddy would play when Grandpa Sal would get fresh chestnuts. We always needed to "cut the cross" in the flat bottom to allow the steam to escape. He would alway leave 2 or three "un-blessed" - the anticipation waiting for them to explode and subsequently watching Grandpa explode was like waiting for a bug buck to walk in the shooting lane!
