Back to baseball.... Most stressful evening for me as both my boys were behind the plate for two separate games at the same time. I stood in centerfield of both fields(which is also the T-ball field) and felt like I was at a tennis match! I brine my thanksgiving bird every year and have started to use the deep fryer for thanksgiving bird(quick cooking and frees up the oven for other goodies). We had an ump try to EJECT a 7th grade today for excessive contact at a play at the plate. Kid slid into the catcher who was slightly off the line. Clearly out and then he starts violently ejecting this kid. Catcher says, “for what? It’s all good!” Thankfully the base ump overruled the ejection(ever see that before!). Calling balls and strike is Such a hard job especially when you have kids bouncing balls all around you and catcher diving out of the way. I absolutely appreciate the effort of all inks! Stopped in the bow shop that offer the hunter safety course near me that always books within the day or so it posts a course. Interesting angle: he said because it’s free antis sign up all the time to fill the spots and then don’t show-actual hunters can’t take the course. His thought; charge a sign up fee that is returned upon completion of the course- no cost for those who actually take it and extra revenue if someone cancels and takes a spot. He says it happens so often that people do not come when they sign up that I should just show up as a “walk in” with my kid and HW complete and they could get him in.
