Yup!!! My family has been doing for as long as I can remember and whenever I tell people that, your reaction is often what I hear! Give it a shot but a cheap red…about 50-50 with a bunch of ice Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Both have their allure for me. I like sharing in my friends’ successes (and even some failures!) especially when I can’t be in the woods when they are. I do find myself hunting different (not sure if that’s good or bad)when I know someone else is in the same woods as me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

These kids are the future of America?
crappyice replied to Grouse's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
I agree with this. Because I get very little support from the admin or parents when it comes to holding kids accountable for their errors or responsibilities, I hold kids accountable less. It is easier for me to “agree” and “appease” the majority of parents and focus on the kids who look for help and are willing to do the work. And there are plenty who still say, “don’t let my kid get away with X” or “that’s not good enough, make him do it over!” Those are the kids (prompted by the level minded parent) that make the greatest strides. My sister and mother came over and we just told stories about sitting around Pop’s table with him in his “Ginny T” and Church pants and screaming at my grandmother to “Call Regina- she better be in an accident cause she’s late” and the time he threw a meatball at my cousin for taking a piece of bread before everyone was sitting down. At the start of a few of my children’s HS classes they were asked to tell a little about themselves and what pronoun they would like the class to use. It is not required of us to do this but some teachers take it upon themselves to be “sensitive” to this issue. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The only thing that Covid did well for us teachers was make parents realize how much our job sucks and how obnoxious their children can be when asking them to do work!!! A little tongue and cheek here but sort of true. We also could not effectively teach through a screen nor are we trained to do that. Online schooling is not a good option. I see the difference in my students this year and we were in school all through the pandemic last year behind masks and plastic screens. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Don’t get me wrong. I agree with you and more so now that I am touring colleges with my three. Having a professor cramming one-sided ideology into the brain of kids is wrong. But having a kid who can know that they are being fed a one-sided argument and make their decision can prevent the indoctrination of my child. And while it is grossly obvious now that this is happening with greater frequency and intensity, how do you think I felt in my “African American women in Lit” course back in the 90’s? 35 kids- me, 2 gay guy, 2 blacks guys and the rest woman. I was the anti-Christ as a white, middle class, Christian, straight conservative Republican man. Somehow, I still am all those things Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Their freedom of choice is “installed” (or instilled) at hime by the parents. My children are in these same schools and will be in college too soon where these ideas run rampant. My children know how to listen, think, debate and decide for themselves what they think and how they feel. If parents at home are not teaching their children their values, colleges will fill the void with their ideologies Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Sunday dinner! Manicotti and ravioli fro Borgatti’s on Arthur Ave Bracciole, sausage Meatballs. And my Pop’s favorite beverage- Carlo Rossi red wine and Coke. Hostess powdered and chocolate donuts for dessert as Grandma would serve! Felt like I was back on Sacket street, Brooklyn. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
