1. Agreed Nomad…loved that he refused to allow people to call him Dr away from academia. I’d like to find his books as I could see myself doing deer search in my retirement(if that day ever comes!) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
2. I GOT BACON!!! Decided to try some before I resmoked today and the kids decided they Like it as is so it’s done!! Bringing it with me to work tomorrow (country club where I run a summer camp) to have the chef slice it nice-nice!!!! Fun little productive project….now to fox the smoker…annoying!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
3. There’s a bunch of videos out there about various repairs…disappointing as I was hoping for more than 5 or 6 runs before dealing with issues…Crappy build if you ask me Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
4. Too soon, man…too soon! I seriously considered t-boning a spotted fawn today with the mini-van just to make a single cheesesteak…where is that bow opener countdown thread! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
5. Did we not discuss yet another SE kid going to the show…. https://dailyvoice.com/new-york/mountpleasant/sports/duke-graduate-student-from-westchester-drafted-by-chicago-cubs/812525/ Northeast is STORMING the MLB On a separate note, I watched my kid go 0-2 during live BP at a St John’s showcase tonight…that was fun! 6. Bought out the first SE store that carried these for a few of the SE fellas and finally cracked my first one tonight after a long hiatus. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
7. I texted CHEF!!! Going with the relatively cold smoke…I put wood chips in foil and pre smoked them over charcoal brickettes, then put two or three lit brickettes in the smoker pan and the tin foils over that….rolling smoke for the last hour….probably keep that up until midnight and see what I got And now I’m going to reread your cold smoke process and see what I’m really in for Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
8. How can I MULTI-LIKE a post cuz that one deserves it!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
9. Doing some research as I wait for my daughters field hockey scrimmage to start…supposedly this unit has a cheap-ass connector somewhere that craps out often….DONT NEED THIS!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
10. Well that’s not good…2 hours in and smoker quit I don’t have time for this…..gonna have to pull them and figure this out later now. So much for the rejuggling of the schedule Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
11. Can’t get the smoke going at a steady pace at low temp of 150. May be a blessing as I tend to over smoke at times….like some on blazers from HS!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
12. Rearranged my afternoon to get it done today…thanks. Excited Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
13. Question mowin My pork belly is out of the cure and in the fridge for 12 - 24 hours developing a pellicle (whatever that is!). But now tomorrow looks like crap for rain and my schedule is all banged up. Can I just leave it in the fridge developing pellicle until Thursday and smoke it then? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
14. Come on man!!! If they show to his spot then they won’t be across the street at mine!!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
15. Jeter might know a little something about NY baseball!!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
16. Yum Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
17. I am so sorry for what these clowns have done to your post!!! Don’t look back you may see things like purple and green and orange “beer.” Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
18. I’ll drink to that!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
19. Honestly you will go to them all. Pop in, have a beer or two, move to another place…rinse and repeat! We went to all the multi floor larger places (4 - 5 floors ..all different bands/music) but didn’t love them. Our favorite three places were Whiskey Bent, Tootsies and AJs. Wild horse saloon was cool if you have your family with you as they have line dancing leaders Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
20. Welcome aboard. Scout scout scout!!! That’s going to help you hone in on the travel routes to and from food and beds. Once you find the active runs, time to find an appropriate tree.I’m usually 15-25’ up depending on the cover and tree but even at 25’ wind direction is still critical to consider. If I see the deer drop I still wait 15 minutes before I start climbing down so never really head out until 30 minutes minimum. If the hit is questionable I wait 1 hour until I even check the hit site and arrow and then read the sign to figure out how to proceed. Where you located? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
21. Is there confirmations that cell cams “count” as checking your traps every 24 hours? Is there a way for cell cams to be set to take a pic at a certain time each day regardless of activity to ensure it’s functioning? Ideally it could be set for a 7am and 7pm pic giving you time to get there if it malfunctions or shows a trapped critter. I would think that would satisfy the criteria, but I know nothing about how those cell cams work Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
22. Pesto with pignoli nuts of course Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
23. Wait…he bought them to sell them or to drink them? Is the “Investment year in review” thread? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
24. Much better pictures. I would put two stools on the lines and call it good. I’m a simple man Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
25. We all love a soaking rain but damn!!! Hoping everyone’s garden survive Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
