  1. Maybe taking long shots with the new extended range shells, where guys feel they can effectively shoot ~60+ yards, then needing back-up shots? Maybe a couple of guys in a blind and each shooting at birds that are together?
  2. I've been shooting aluminum right along. I decided to make the switch to carbon after my aluminum supply got low enough. At the end of last bow season, I think I am down to 3 arrows, so time to replenish! Carbon, here I come...
  3. What a birthday present! Congrats!! Sounds like it was an exciting hunt! BTW, Happy Birthday!
  4. My college professor told me that flying squirrels are as common as grey squirrels in NYS, but we just don't see them as much because they are nocturnal. They are neat looking critters though.
  5. Congrats! Sounds like great hunt and relaxing morning to be in the woods!
  6. As big as those spurs were, you could use 'em for coat hangers!
  7. Remember the saying, "You can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig." Well, "You can put a beard on a hen, but it's still a hen!"
  8. Very nice! Having a great season!!
  9. I've had a couple different ones at camp. Nope, wouldn't shoot one. They get a pass.
  10. Congrats! Doesn't sound like guys are having much luck this year, and with so little gobbling, consider yourself fortunate!
  11. Sounds like some exciting hunts! You're in the action anyway! That was a huge ass jake!
  12. Oh, come on! Tell her all good turkey hunters do that for good luck!
  13. Very nice!! So are you mounting that above your headboard or on the ceiling above your bed?
  14. We don't have many turkeys at all in my area and haven't for ~10 years now. I choose to save what few we do have, for my kids (13 & 17) to hunt, so I don't to shoot any. I don't even carry a gun myself when I take them out. I get wayyyyyy more pleasure calling the gobblers in for them and seeing them get their turkeys, than I would shooting one myself anyway. That said, considering what we have available, blast away at the jakes!
  15. Congrats! That's great!! Nice bird!
  16. Thanks. I asked about travel, but none required. Considering no travel, and I would only be driving 3/4 of a mile to work (actually walking distance), a vehicle allowance is probably out of the question too. Cell phone.... "maybe"...
  17. Maybe that patch of trout lilys has some secret sleeping potion in them!? Would have been funny to let with a gobbler call that close to see how quickly he would have jumped up!
  18. Or you can bread them in flour or bread crumbs before frying if you want.
  19. I bet you have that fan tacked above your headboard, so you'll have sweet dreams tonight?!
  20. Congrats! He is a slob!! Did you weigh him? Story??
  21. Thought I'd make nuggets out of the breast, bread, then deep fry. Haven't tried that before and thought everyone would like it that way. How are you gonna do yours?
