  1. Thought I heard a deer walking behind me in the thicket. I grabbed my grunt call, but it was frozen up! Reeds were frozen and I slider on the side to adjust the tone. Had to tuck it inside my coat to thaw.... Still no sightings. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  2. Hunt #50 kicking off …. with ass draggin'. Extra pot of coffee is brewing to put in the thermos to help warm me up later. With a Real Feel temp of 8 degrees, that'll hit the spot! Good luck fellas!
  3. No sightings at all today! Oh good God! According to Accuweather, the Real Feel temp tomorrow morning at daylight will be 8 degrees! Gonna be a chilly one! BRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. Thanks, but I'm leaning more towards stupidity! LOL Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  5. My clothes got soaked this morning from the melting wet snow dripping off the trees. I took them home and dried them on lunch. Now it's raining and they can get wet all over again.... oh goodie! As strong and gusty as the wind is, I don't dare put up the umbrella. The mood I'm in right now, even that piss-lickin'-spike from last night might be in danger if he comes by! Grrrr... 6. Back in the stand. That wind sure has picked up since this morning! Come on big bucks, throw a brother a bone!! Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  7. Looked out the office window about 6:15am and saw that the rain changed to snow. Packed up and headed to the stand afterall. I usually don't see anything from this stand until ~7:30am anyways. Was in the stand by 6:45am ready for action. Unfortunately, there was no action! I was soaked from the melting wet dripping off the trees, so I decided to run home to dry clothes, then plan on getting back on stand by 2pm. I set the bar pretty high for what I wanted to shoot this year. I've passed up many bucks that I normally wouldn't have. Every hunt closer that we get to the end of bow season, the more that bar is going down! LOL Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  8. Congrats Rob!! You certainly put in your time, so she's well deserved! Looks like a hefty one! Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  9. The weatherman was calling for snow overnight and a winter weather advisory! I had a hard time sleeping last night fantasizing about the rutting bucks out frolicking in the snow today! I got up 30 min before the alarm went off, opened the front door and looked out into the..... POURING RAIN?!?!? WTF!!! Decided to go to work today, to save the vacation day for another time.... Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  10. Does that make him gay? (Not that theres anything wrong with that...) It would just explain a lot with the lack of rutting activity that I've seen! Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  11. Well this is a little awkward! A spike is standing under my stand licking my fresh urine from a fallen branch and eating the leaves that I just whizzed on from my stand!! WTF? Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  12. DAF here! There's usually squirrels up the ying yang driving me nuts, but I've only seen one since 1pm! Very strange! Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  13. Just got a Winter Weather Advisory warning from 11pm tonight until 11am tomorrow. You would think the deer would be moving, with this front coming. BUT............ Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  14. Would be nice if these deer were moving! It's sure making for one L-O-N-G day!! Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  15. Ran out at 11am to get a few things done in preparation for the gun opener. Was back in the stand at 1pm. The way my morning went, I can't imagine I missed anything... Thanks for keeping an eye on things for me though fella's! LOL Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  16. Be careful getting out of the stand tonight! We don't want you to get trampled!!
  17. Bob, I don't know how I missed this, but the service that that you're doing is awesome!! So cool to take the time to help others get started in the sport that might not have anyone else to show them! Great job!
  18. Happy Birthday! Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  19. I can't believe how dead it is out here! Just 1 little spike all morning. Was planning on a daylight til dark sit, but if I don't see something by 11, I think I'll head out to get a hot lunch, then be back by 1:00. My back and knees have been aching for the past few weeks, I think from being so stiff in the stand for hours every day. Popping Advil and Tylenol to get through it. 20. 8J. Absolutely beautiful morning, weather wise. Only had a little spike and a red fox come by this morning. Surprised there isn't better deer activity. Seems crazy that this is hunt #46,, but I've yet to see any chasing or bucks with or trailing does. In the past week, they've been cruising during the day, but that's it. Not even seeing a spike in roadkill yet. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  21. Getting back at it this morning. Got the coffee brewing and checking the latest wind direction. Looks like it'll be a pretty windy opener this year. Accuweather is saying 29mph gusts.
