  1. Sounds like what's been happening with me! LOL I haven't seen any deer in the last few hunts. Tonight, I saw 8 deer standing ~300 yards across the road from where I park, on private property. Just had to laugh.... and mumble under my breath! Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  2. Didn't see a thing today. One more evening hunt tomorrow. Not that I think I'm going to see anything, but I just gotta do it. Spent opening morning in the stand watching the sun rise, so I always spend the last afternoon in the stand watching the sunset and reflecting on the season. It's gonna be a long wait until Oct. 1st...
  3. In the same boat crappyice! LOL I just ran out to get a warm lunch. Now I'm sitting in the truck at camp, watching it rain and sleet, trying to get motivated and think positive to go back out. Didn't see a thing this morning... If I don't go out, I'll regret it later! It's gonna be a L-O-N-G wait until next October! #finishstrong #noregrets #gearupbitches Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  4. Wish I could Like 100x!! Congrats Amy!! You're the man Bob!! Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  5. Wow! Just this morning, huh? That's pretty cool! I was thinking back and I never saw any chasing until 11/17. Now here we are just about exactly 4 weeks later (12/16), and found a very fresh scrape this morning. Maybe the second rut is firing up... Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  6. Took a little walk after it started raining. Found a scrape that has been all torn up very recently. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  7. Well, it's 10:00. If I haven't seen anything by now, I can't imagine I will. May as well pull the plug, go get a hot lunch, and decide which stand to hunt this afternoon. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  8. WTH, just Jala Rut, Belo, and myself representing 8F? So at least we all agree that it's pretty dead in 8F! LOL Any rain over your way? Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  9. Anyone seen any deer moving or heard any shooting? Dead here. Heard one distant shot. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  10. Hearing you guys talk about rain has me wondering if or when it'll get here. Nothing yet. 33 degrees, dry, and a very slight breeze. As mild as it is, I thought for sure the deer would be moving. Nothing yet and I haven't even heard any shooting. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  11. Decided to hang up the bow and give the muzzleloader some love too. #muzzleloadersmatter Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  12. Congrats Jay! Too bad Sam didn't get to take a crack! Damn! Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  13. Too Funny! I didn't notice he was dragging with his belt, until I read your comment and wondered what you meant!
  14. Today I decided I needed to better my chances in the late season of filling my DMP's, so I thought I would give the bow a rest, and break out the muzzleloader. I stopped by the town clerks office to get my muzzleloader license. As she was doing her thing on the computer, she asked me if I wanted my DMP's also? I told her that I already got all of mine. I got 2 when I first got my license and 2 more leftovers on Nov. 1st. She replied and said that the system said they were available to me and if they weren't, they system wouldn't say that. I hesitantly told her OK and the two WMU's (8F & 8J) that I would like to get if they were still available. I got both (always have leftovers for both of those WMU's). That makes a total of 6 DMP's that I had issued to myself. Now, I guess I always thought/assumed you could only get a max of 4 DMP's, 2 during the first round and 2 leftovers? I'm not in one of those WMU's where you can just keep going back for more Bonus DMP's. So, is there a DMP limit that you can get issued to you, excluding the bonus areas and consigned? I couldn't find anything on the DEC website.
  15. An older muzzleloader that's a pain in the ass to take apart and clean. Besides, if I shoot the bow, I don't have to clean it!
  16. Haven't seen anything in a couple of hours now. Ill probably head out soon. Not too disappointed, as I really didn't have high hopes of seeing anything, let alone get one within bow range today. Oh well, the weather is nice and I haven't been out for the past 5 days, so I was jonsesing to get back into the stand with the bow! Got my "fix" anyways!! Until tomorrow..... 17. I'm out. Both times I pulled my phone out this morning to check in, I looked up and saw a deer. It's been quiet, so I thought I would try that trick again. Didn't work this time.... No deer! Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  18. Sorry for your loss. When you lose your Dad, you lose a part of yourself. I lost my Dad, my one and only hunting partner, 12 years ago to a sudden massive heart attack. Hunting season is always bitter sweet. I left his stands up and it's still painful walking by those stands. I've used his guns every year ever since he passed, just to feel like he's still out there with me. Hearing all the stories of guys losing their Dad's reminds me of a song that I hear often, "You Should Be Here" by Cole Swindell. About a guy that misses sharing those special times with his Dad. It ends with him at his Dad's headstone.... Pretty sad. (The first 40 sec is slow, but he's telling his Dad about something big in his life.)
  19. Just couldn't resist! I'll be so bummed when bow season is over! Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  20. Too bad to lose a buck like that! Sure is frustrating when you hunt your ass off out in the elements, only to have a scumbag roadhunter do a drive by and snatch one from you. Glad they caught the poacher though!
