surprised he posted it.. funny -
bah, got home and started looking into the DMFA for options and found a story about lack of access. google david figura , deer hunters complain about lack of access in special Tomkins county hunting area. would post a link but no pasting or something. seeing as how im 5 hours away that's a long way to go to have a deer run straight into posted land. people just don't want hunters on their land. oh well. I registered anyway, might make the trip

i shoot recurve, fingers deerskin gloves, no need for all the bells and whistles. may invest in a compound next year for the wife but I think she is leaning toward rifle. she wants to start hunting with me course she may wind up shooting me in the back by "Accident". Went out again today, think I saw the Doe that I shot. put a smile on my face she was with the same herd in the same bedding spot, I jumped em. MAN she didn't even look this time. first sound and she was outa there.watched em run away, beautiful animals they are.

Nothin to do wth heroes and villians. And whos gawkin. If u limit the hours to early mornin most people will be in bed. Im sure towns can use that half a mill to provide more servicws to residents that make sense and more would appreciate that over payin a federal sharpshooter flown in from washington on overtime. -

Want a plan. If u have deer who show up on ur property regularly post on ur facebok and get ur neighbors within 100 yrds to agree to let someone recovr deer. Make me a nice cup of cofee in the am at about 10 when im done. Will only see me on saturdays and sunday mornin if u get up early enough -

What money. Thay already have the meetings. But u dont hear about em till after they happen. I call and leave messages and no one geys back to me. Spending money is easir than doing it the hard way -
Thanks for the advice gonna use that draw and let down method at home. happened that day to arms felt all wobbly. been in the gym almost every day since doing my shoulders again. actually had a doe present me with TWO shots this past weekend and spooked myself into not taking either at about 20 yards on the ground. was scared I would miss so I kept waiting kept second guessing my shot, she was slightly higher than me and slightly quartering to me and i was staring at her bottom underside slightly quartering to me. had I taken a knee I woulda been that much lower and the arrow would have had a nice entry under her. just couldn't take the shot she bedded down and I tried to get closer and spooked her outa there. she musta heard me coming cause I was downwind of her and had a nice wind blowing. but gave me a good shot right before she bedded that was broadside but her body was curved and I studied my placement waaaay to long. only deer I saw all day and all im thinking about is the last damn bad shot. least I had a good time been kicking myself cause that was the ONLY deer I saw all day. got me thinking about what shots I should take what shots I shouldn't

first year hunting and I saw a good amount of deer, got a shot on one, enjoyed learning and loved it. wish I didn't have to drive so far or I woulda been out way more, so all in all I have to say it was a good season even if I don't get one for the fridge

Make it an additional license even to generate revenue that goes toward deer cleqnup or somethin. Bait Lux nce and u have to take 3 does over bait before a buck. And only have x amount availabe per wmu. -
would be nice to put a deer or two in my freezer. thinking if I don't take one before the last weekend I may take two or three days after xmas to a place or two around NY. wondering if anyone can suggest a spot say 4 hours or so from the city that has good deer and a decent place to crash that wont break the bank.

wool glove liners that i cut the three fingers off of for shooting my bow with fingers. other hand i keep a light glove on for holding my bow or no glove at all (rather no glove) and a good muff with some hand warmers. if im walking around i keep a hand warmers up near my knuckles on the back of my hand under the glove. keeps my hand nice and warm. even my fingers.

i don't see them lowering that 500 feet to 150 rule thing. not in here in NY. people are way to jumpy here

thanks for all the help, went with Guide Gear® 2,000 gram WATERPROOF, 11 1/2" Side - zip Boots cost me 90 bucks with shipping. was the most insulation I could get with the amount of cash I had. there were a few that were suggested that I would like to get but with less insulation. though I don't think these will be good for stalking around, for treestanding they should be fine. will look into some thing else when the season is over if the wife lets me blow some more cash if I get a deer im good, if not mmmmaaaybe not

yup change my socks when I got on stand. learned that lesson first time out. luckily I picked up a tip on you tube to put my water bottle in socks to keep em warm. don't have wool socks have some poly blend moisture wicking socks. will see if I can pick up some sock liners before I head out.

and here I am trying to fill my freezer with tags. they better toss me a few deer cause I would GLADLY come sit on a property out there to bag me some deer. been out to brookhaven once to scout and once to hunt and didnt do well so moved up to Westchester and sterling forest. this is ridiculous to spend on what can be done for free -
so I was on stand and was rather comfortable till my toes froze, not bad. but it was only about 20, since im may be going out on Thursday and its supposed to get down to like 28 or something I thought it might be smart to get a better pair of boots. i currently wear a pair of rubber boots that are supposed to be good down to 20 below but that's crap, had to put a pair of hand warmers in my boots to warm em up. any suggestions? don't wana spend that but i guess that's my xmas gift.
