    It's actually a pretty interesting topic you brought. I know alot of people use water as barrier but then say the damn deer just walked through the water. If you watch deer water on there legs doesn't seem to bother them in my experience. We should start another topic and see what other people do/ think.

    I have seen just the opposite where I have hunted. I have set up using water as a pinch point and then they just meander through he water eating and not caring. That being said. When stream floods and are raging I don't think deer like to cross but will without a problem when pushed. Standing water though is a different story.

    Had a doe meander through. Hopefully the bigguy like the live decoy and shows up!

    Can't feel my feet now don't know how I am going to walk out!! J/K I left at 9 nothing seen. Change of boots warm up and back for a long afternoon sit! Hopefully you idea of them moving when it's warmer out works.

    I have a small thermos I duct taped and it holds about a large coffee maybe a little more. I am looking to get another about the same size as a gift just better quality. What are some of you guys using that works well and really keeps everything warm.

    Could it be that the shock brought him down and you smoked the windpipe and he just didn't get his feet under him. Might have suffocated.

    Brother took a real nice deer yesterday. Slow day today. Hardly any shooting yesterday or today. Good luck out there today they are moving around that's for sure.

    You can shoot on some of the state land. I know all ranges do require a membership.
