  1. Pulled the plug. Boots musta been damp my feet felt like clubs walking in. Too early on the season for that
  2. That a for sure just watched a deer walk 2 feet behind my camera. Would have never known if I wasn't sitting here!
  3. Another trick is to heat them up with boiling water and pinch them to make them tighter. If they are to tight you can spread them out he same way or take a light sand paper and take a little off at a time until they fit right. I don't know what the water would do to a light up knock though.
  4. By using really tight nocks you are losing performance in your arrow. Your nocks should be snug but not tight. A tight nock actually adds some noise also.
  5. Granola bars, candy, poptarts, apples etc. If I can fit in my pack and it doesn't take up to much space it goes!! Coffee or tea when the temps drop is a life saver with those all day sits too.
  6. Funny I had my rut activity the 11th of last year. Seems Grampy might be onto something. I have kept logs for a long time and if you can take time off it should be from Oct. 31st till gun opener and even that week. Great time to be in the woods!
  7. 18 20ft. I like a little higher but you have to be careful about your shots when you get high. The angle can make one lung shots. If you are picking good stands that you aren't skylighted in 15 18 ft is all you need.
  8. I don't think it does I will read the box for ya. I don't get picked off though.
  9. Not really if I was to measure each out it would probably be 1/2 cup borax 1/4 cup baking soda. I adjust the amount acording to that size of the wash though.
  10. Remember cameras don't give you the whole picture. Big deer are smart and big for a reason. I seen a few walk 10-20 feet downwind of a used deer trail. They might be there you just aren't seeing them on camera.
  11. I have a couple of the wild game cameras that are a year old or so. Does anybody else have problems with batteries in them. They take 3-4 pics and the batteries are spent! I have 2-3 different kinds and they all seem to do the same thing.
  12. Put a temp. fence up around some of it so it can grow back. they will keep eating the other area but at least you will save some.
  13. I have shot through the screens before and as long as the screen is tight and the shot is close there is no problem. Make sure you have a cut on contact broadhead though. If you are nervous about it take them down. You don't want to be thinking about anything but picking a spot on that animal.
  14. I always carry a backpack with me. I attach it to my stand with a carabiner and the bungee it on. I say that because I have a 20' section of 550 paracord in the back pack. It is on the bottom but it is always there, you never know when you will need it. Doesn't weigh anything either. I always pull my bow up and wear the back pack.
  15. That made for an exciting night. Great job Kunox and Outdoostom.
  16. Nice shot and good quick thinking on your feet. Congrats to you and your friend
  17. I talk to a lot of people and they say they take there bow out 2 weekend before season put a few arrows through it and they are good. It is a terrible thought process on a hunters part. Practice is such a key part in making a good shot. The muscle memory and shot process is so much cleaner when under pressure if you practice regularly.
  18. Anyone ever notice that the shooting comes on waves. We get the first shots then it could be 1 hour later and you hesr shots start up and it's not from the same area. It like the deer everywhere move then dont.
  19. It sounded like one guy was shooting at geese flying by. Musta reloaded 3 times. Crazy hope it was just young nerves.
  20. Grampy, Thanks for the offer. If you can't put your hands on it easily don't worry about it this weekend. Don't need it right away. I am just trying to be proactive. Plus we need to get together for some coffee and story telling.
