  1. Where you in the same tree as me? I only saw one doe and that was a ways off.
  2. New scrapes where old ones are! Means they are using the area. Rubs can show a travel path if you find a bunch but that won't mean they will be in that same spot or path. You can set up over a scrape and use cover to your advantage. You know the deer will visit that exact spot.
  3. My cams in 4h are starting to show the small bucks are getting interested in the doe!
  4. He does own the place. Lol guess I should have put more in the first post..
  5. Not a trespasser. I meant a gem as an awsome pic. That is me and my daughter.
  6. I find that it is very specific to your area. The so called experts tell you that it happened this week or that week and I usually see something different within a couple of weeks. I heard someone saying the rut was on last week and I was still seeing bucks running together.
  7. I don't think they add stability in the front the single bevel is more for a continued twist apon impact to do more damage. I have heard that they can be tough to tune.
  8. The actual broadhead doesn't have a twist to it. The idea behind the a single bevel it to keep twisting even when hitting something hard like bone. That is why they say it is important to get the same bevel as your fletching. Right hand fletching right hand bevel. The broadhead is supposed to twist/break and cut its way through instead of just cutting its way through. Kind of like prying its way through the front shoulder useing a twisting motion.
  9. I have not used them but I have a buddy that used grizzly single bevels and they penetrate bone better than a double bevel. The twisting motion will actually split the bone apart. It's a crazy concept but that twist does a number on bone. I have heard they are hard to tune though. Again I have not used them myself but have seen there devastation first hand.
  10. Isn't that the tappenzee in the background?
  11. Not in the blind 15 min. And 3 doe pop out. My daughter wanted me to shoot but they just didnt come in close enough. Just kept saying are you going to shoot! Hopefully bluerasberry jolly ranchers bring in the big boys.
  12. Just had a coyote go through went to get a call and look in the direction of the dog and a deer is coming at me. No shot opportunity but at least I'm seeing something.
  13. I would think they are trying to be extra safe for the kids. That is why you/ they can't be in a stand. I agree though that being in a stand is part of the charm and experience of hunting.
  14. Interesting concept. I do t thinking have ever seen that done before. I never take my arrows off. I practice with them on so I figure I need to keep everything the same all the time for repetitiveness.
  15. Great investment. I use mine all year. Specially around the campfires and such.
  16. Good luck, out there. With all that meat you will have a New york hunting forum BBQ right?
  17. Awesome job, Did you guys back track to see if there was any blood? What was he using for a broadhead?
