Wait till after the first of the year when the stickers change color. The revenue collectors will really be out in force.

Some douche canoe put nails across the driveway of one of the parking areas on our hunting lease. Three guys (including me of course) have had 1" roofing nails in our tires this past week/weekend. FML

Lol looked about right
-
I don't use ground blinds
-
Well the latest one from Otsego County may be an example although truthfully I don't know if he was wearing blaze orange. With the amount of idiots out there, I just prefer not to be out wandering around the woods right or wrong.
-
Majority of the deer I've seen lately are does.
-
Well that's a fair question also but good lord.
-
Obviously blaze orange doesn't work, we have guys shooting at moving bushes for gods sake. I'm not taking the chance.

I keep a roll in my hunting backpack and in my fishing bag. People think I'm crazy till it happens to them and then they think I'm a genius.

Boy I would have lost it on several occasions. That guy with the air horn would have been blowing that thing with broken fingers.

Remembered why I don't hunt from tree stands
Waldershrek replied to cdmckane's topic in Deer Hunting
Ladder stands are the most stable stand there is a far as when it's windy. My hang on stands on the other hand.....there has been days where I was glad I had a harness -
Yeah I'm not wandering through the woods during gun season. Too many idiots shooting when the bushes move. Oh I'm sure I'll be out, just complaining the whole time lol. It has taken me many years to get the science of staying warm down. I now have Under Armour base layers (The skin tight one as the first layer and then their "tree stand" layer as a second layer). I then wear sweatpants and and an Under Armour hoody followed by my outer layer of Scentblocker triple threat pants and coat. The nice thing about the triple threat is that it's windproof and waterproof. The biggest problem for me has been my hands and feet. I've finally found the solution to that and shockingly enough its very simple. I wear gloves and throw handwarmer packs in my pockets and just keep my hands in my pockets. My feet is a different story though. I haven't found the right setup for that yet apparently since my feet freeze every time I go out. I use wool socks and my boots are 1,000 gram insulated. I have even tried the heat packs in the toes of the boots but they don't work for crap. I'm about to try the Thermacell heated insoles but the reviews are very mixed on them to say the least.

20 mph wind is too much. I dunno if I'll even get out that day
-
Little windy this afternoon. This morning I only saw one doe so I don't know what to expect for the afternoon
-
Another nice frosty morning. Please god, let them be moving
-
Screw it, I'm taking the rest of the week off

I saw one doe this morning and absolutely nothing tonight. I can't believe it. -
I sure hope this sparks something. Been a terrible year so far

Saw one doe this morning. One. Out here for the afternoon hunt and it feels like it'll be good but then again I said that this morning

This morning is looking to the best morning in awhile -
Nice morning. Hopefully deer will be moving

Beautiful morning out here. Cold, crisp, little bit of frost and more importantly no wind. I got a good feeling

How long will it take for the deer to get back to "normal"
Waldershrek replied to Woodjr55's topic in Deer Hunting
Aint this the truth -
Looks like an older fella too (the deer not your friend).

Hell if you got doe tags I'd start filling them.
