I always skinned them immediately when I got home and then process them when I get time with a few days. Unless of course it's really warm, then I'd quarter it and put it in the garage fridge until I could process it completely.

anyone out there hunting or is it to cold to hunt
Waldershrek replied to sweet old bill's topic in Deer Hunting
I don't mind the cold per se but the wind. I went out yesterday morning and it was 20 degrees with 20 mph winds. I could only make it for two hours. You'd think for about a grand worth of clothing I could hunt in anything. Wind isn't as bad today so I'll be out this afternoon. -
Hornady SST slugs

I've tried them, Copper Solids and Winchesters sabots out of my Mossberg 500 rifled barrel and they finished last. Of course I'm speaking just from an accuracy standpoint. Winchesters and copper solids were basically the same. -
That's what I should have done. I went out though and only made it until 8am before I was about froze solid. Wind was no better by afternoon so but should be better by morning. I didn't see anything but some turkeys this morning.

I'm not sure I would have been able to shoot I'd have been shaking so bad.

That guy is full of crap Yeah no kidding, I'm with you

Deer shouldn't be bothered by traffic on the roads. I'd be more worried about walking through the woods and fields possibly kicking out bedding deer.

Has anyone tried/own a heated seat cushion??
Waldershrek replied to loworange88's topic in General Hunting
That's what I use and they work good but they're one time use -
That's always my bigger fear is limbs coming down from over head than the actual tree falling down

If nothing else you could stick it inside your jacket probably -
That's awesome. I have a lot of UA stuff so that's good to know.
-
Not surprising. Most cops don't know the laws other than the few VTL sections they write all the time.

Is Cuomo running unopposed?
Waldershrek replied to Doc's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
bubba, you've had a lot of good posts in this thread. Rob can't spend like Cuomo and as such has to wait to start his tv campaign. however I think that will be a good thing ultimately as like you said, people remember what they see last. Rob's platform isn't about guns either although he has stated many times that he opposes the Safe Act and will do what he can to try and get it repealed. There's also common core, and his plan to eliminate corruption by enacting term limits for every politician and stripping those convicted of corruption of their public pensions among other things. It shocks me this many gun owners still have no clue at this stage in the game. Contact your local GOP office and get some yard signs, donate to his campaign, like his facebook posts. Do SOMETHING. -

Have you mowed anything taller with it? -
Well WTF. According to Biologic the planting dates are aug-sept for fall plots on that
-
You were hard horned or the deer were?
-
Never got time to get any spring plots in, thinking about doing a fall now but I have some questions. I have/can get the equipment, that's no problem. The plot size would be 1-1.5 acres and right now I'm thinking a brassica/radish/clover mix like Biologic Winter Grass Plus or similar. Looking to give them something for the later season and through the winter. Any other recommendations on a seed plant? My biggest concern right now is not having time to get a soil test done. They take at least a week probably closer to two through the cooperative extension.

Eli manning is a turd. It blows my mind how he has won two superbowls

Not a bills fan but that's great news for the Bills and the Buffalo area. Hopefully he can bring some success although as the Sabres owner I don't know how he thinks he's going to do that because they suck lol.
