I just keep expecting that doe to moan "Braaaaaaaains". Pretty sure posting a picture of that is no worse than any other harvested deer. Still think it was a beautiful shot.

I'm going to get up at 2am tomorrow and get on that south face 2 hours before daylight. Cold, quiet, clear. They should be all about the acorns and getting in that nice south face sun. Hail Mary time!

Oh I forgot : getting my land on the side of the hill logged. About 2500 trees taken off it. Mostly hemlock. -

Oh lordy : Have to prioritize, but definitely going to get myself something to disc fields with, have the soil samples, and see what we can grow. I'd like to get something out to promote antler growth. Our soil is pretty acid-y, but we'll see. Need a back blade and chains for the tractor too me thinks. I'd love to get the road fixed, but I doubt I'll get out of that project for under 10 g's. Need a shed to put toys in too. -
I think he meant the ewok in his front pouch? If that's so, little guy is a born badass hunter.

Anyone have the cure for late season no buck depression? I can't seem to buy a shot at horns with the rifle for 3 years running now. Really demotivated feeling. Never had much luck past Thanksgiving for horns. I'm guessing I should be keying in on food now, not on travel routes? Only other thing I can think of to hunt this real hot spot, is to get up (barf) even earlier. Get in and settled 2 hours before daylight? I'd have to get up at 2am to manage that.

I got one more personal day to burn, probably Wednesday. Might have to fill my dad's landowners tag for him. Rotten luck this gun season.

Weather like this makes me realize I need a good blind. I just can't handle it otherwise. Neighbors buddy shot a nice 8 about 100 yards from my hot stand this morning, those white oaks are red hot.

Horny squatch, probably a female. At least she didn't catch you, I came eyeball to eyeball with this fella opening morning. He winked at me.

Yeah I stopped putting then within 100 yards of my stands this year. I have a real good one of Monster in mid slam-on-the-breaks mode from the flash at night. Never saw him again. -

Sherlock is only about 10 to 20 miles as the crow flies from me I think, but his part 4h looks a bit different than mine! I question my decision making.

Well, at least the view is nice. Neighbor shot 20 minutes ago, no word yet. Sure would be nice to see some antlers!

Pretty comfortable in the sun. Really noisy in the woods, all the snow is melting off the trees and crashing down.

You know what I just realized? Haven't seen a single spike this year. Weird. Does that mean I'm hunting where the big boys are?
