didnt say i shot 2 feet low i said it shot about to feet left . i find it hard to believe too being that i went up after the miss, shot my other rage broad heads and they flew exactly the same as the one i missed the deer with, but when i put the practice rage back on it shot dead nuts on the same as normal field tips.
-
My dad just bought the Stirrups last week they came with a bungie in the box i think he payed 30 bucks on amazon for them they came next day for free.
-
Like i said the rage practice tip shoots great, it soots the same as normal field tips, but when i shot the real broadheads they shot way off, im thinking they are opening before they get to the target, sooon as the wind calms down this afternoon hopefull ill be out shooting them to see if i get the same results, if i do im trashing them and gettting new broadheads. i have never had this problem before and i have been bow hunting for 10 years.

those are some really cool pics, i like the turkey karate kick haha
-
oops....i thoight that too Fasteddie but last night i had all my hunting gear on when i went up and tested the other broadheads.
-
I guess what ill do is just buy a bunch of O rings and maybe shock collers and use one Broadhead to sight in maybe once thats good ill maybe shoot one other one to make sure we repeat then i shoud be good to go.......hopefully. it was just a total drain of confidence to have that happen
-
Yes i used the same knocks for practice and hunting they are the easton lighted knocks cost 8 bucks for a 3 pack
-
cool ill check that out, im at work right now so cant watch video.....the only thing i was coming up with is that maybe they were opening as i shot and now when they hit. who know but like i said at least no deer was wounded just a straight up bad shot.

This year i decided i woudl try rage broad heads so i bought a pack of chisel 2 bladed. i have been practiceing quite a bit shooting this year to the point that my father said he has never seen me shoot this good ever, i was shooting from 10-45v yards useing the practice tip that comes with the broadheads, i was under the impression that i didnt have to shoot the actual broadheads cause the practice tip was exactly the same, boy was i wrong, yester day evening 10-28-2012 i was hunting a field edge when at 5:45 a nice 8 point stepped out nothing huge probably 90-100 inches i was all ready relaxed and ready to shoot the deer stepped out to 28 yards...i know this cause i range found him, i pulled back setteled the pin and let her fly.......only to watch my lighted knock miss the deer by about 2 feet left and short. i start woundering what could have happened so i get down head up to the house set the target up knock another rage broad head settle the pin and letter fly....miss 2 feet left and short again....now im really confused so i grab my practice tip rage pull her back let her fly....wouldent ya know bullseye deadon, i pull it our shoot again, dead on, i take my 3rd broad head and shoot...miss 2 feet low and left....what a wast of money these were, and yes i know i shoudl have shot the actual broad head before but i thought that by shooting them i could dammge them cause they are prettty flimsy. so i guess my lesson is learned. the only good to come from the story is that i missed the deer complety and didnt gut shot or ass shot or high back shoot him, so ill have to kill him another day.,..

i dont know... dont see the big deal, its not like it shows you a dot on a map where the deer are for you to just walk up to and kill,. you still have to be in the right place at the right time, i personaly have sent and recived txt meggages and calls while hunting with my people to either tell them a deer is headed there way or someone letting me know a deer has headed my way, so far not one time have i kill or has anyone else kill a deer that way, have i seen them after gettting a txt sure but they still have to be close enough to shoot...would use the app? sure... but i just rememnber where i see deer and deer sign and remember where it was and i set up there with my climber if i dont have a stand in the area. with that said,,thats a great Buck conrats and i know its gotta be exciting to get a deer useing something you had a hand in creating, i know i was pumped when i shot my 1st buck out of my home made climber and it was not nearly as nice a deer.

i dont know exactly how to score but doenst having an odd # of points hurt your score because its not symmetrical?

Bummer that he is all busted up he would be a beauty. -
the most important thing is that you are happy with the deer you take weather its a spike a doe or a big old swamp buck.

Normally on Tuesday evenings i get out for a couple hours cause my old lady watches the new baby. this even i did not go out, but i was at my hunting ground which is my parents house / land. my dad needed help with moving some sheet for his pull barn. so after work i head right up there all smelly from machine shop oil and coolant, we move the stuff and then i think i'm gonna go out back and check the field so i take my binos and me and my dad head back only about 100 yards away from his house to the top of a hill. I look fast and see nothing......wait there is a a buck my dad says i check it out and its a nice 8 point. We standing at the top of the hill watching this buck from about 250 yards i watch as he walks right to the stand i normally sit in on tuesday evenings. bummer. but ill get him soon.

this is a buck my father killed a few years ago, he came in at 127 3/8 gross and net of 123 1/8 it is in the NY big bucks club book. so you canuse this a ref. the deer was a 5 1/2 year old 8 point taken with bow on a still hunt. kind of same angle shots

yeah on the rage site there are 2 types... the orange Legacy collers which are used with the O ring and then the then the X-treme coller which are used for the new 2.3 cutting rage which dont look like the need the O ring.
-
Oh you have the x-treme is your collar black? i use rage chisel which has the O ring alone with an Orange shock coller which slips over the ring.
-
yeah they chew on the branch it leaves a scent for other deers. i just got one of those scrape dripper things and set it up it came with a dvd that was really good i learned a lot from that. little did i know that if you dont have a lot of scraes on your land its not cause theres no Bucks its because you most likely have to many doe there for no scraped needed cause there is no compitation.

Rage Legacy shock collars help prevent the blades on your Rage broadhead from prematurely deploying if you accidentally bump your broadhead while on stand or stalking. Legacy Shock Collarsfit any 100 grain Rage Broadhead and are designed to be used in conjunction with the O-ring for optimal blade retention. Legacy shock collars break on impact, so they will need to be replaced after every shot. Inspect the legacy shock collar prior to use to ensure proper function. Legacy shock collar use is optional. thats what was on the rage sight.
-
i use rage also and im pretty sure you use the O ring along with the coller.

i wounder how they deturmin legal hunting hours, i mean i know there is a set sun rise and sun set time. so i guess its like the speed limits, with that being said would the dec let it slid if you were something like 2 mins past the time. like if the speed limit was 55 and you pass a cop going 60 they more then likely will not pull you over, so where would the cut off so to speek be? 2 min, 5 min...10 min? what are your thoughts......and now i wait for someone to bash me.
