same thing in my hunting area, within the past 2 weeks i started getting nothing but night pics, and the number of deer i was seeing while hunting was way down compared to earlier this season and in my past seasons.

Leaving work in 15 min, headed to the house to shower then the tree stand hopefully me coming into work at 4:30am to get out to hunt will pay off.

some people wont shoot a smaller buck early in the season with hopes that his daddy will walk by, but if that same small buck walks by last weekend of the season they will take it just cause they don"t want to wast the tag.

no club to join at tall pines either it cost 20 bucks a day and you can camp there too.

Check out Tall Pines atv park in andover NY, it has 1200 acers and about 60 miles of trails. its an awesome place .

yeah i know you cant have a loaded guy on the ATV but could a person be in a tree stand say 18 feet up with the gun and the ATV at the base of the tree stand ? or is there some set distance you need to be away from the ATV before its legal to have a gun / bow and be able to shoot?

so i bought a new ATV this spring, pretty much for trail riding and pulling logs. but i started thinking that I have a swamp stand and could ride my ATV to the stand insted of walking through the swamp, so my question is this. how close is legelly to close to have my ATV to me and my stand? for instance could I ride the ATV right to the ladder of the stand and climb up or do i have to have it a special distance away?

mine, you face the tree, sit on the bar on the top piece, put feet through straps on bottom piece pretty much stand up, rest but on the bar of top piece, then pull your feet up, making sure each time that you teeth of the stand get a good grip on the tree. do that over and over a bunch of times and your up the tree.

i have posted this in another thread but oh well..i made my own climber out of aluminum its just as light as the summits but i made the platform a bit bigger and the sitting area wider see how im a bigger guy 6 foot 265 lbs. i have used it for 5 years now and love it.i used a summit seat that i had off an old steel heavy as hell climber and took ideas from a few different climbers and put them all together. but if i was gonna buy one i would probably buy a summit they are really nice, i have used my uncles a few times. here are some pictures of my home made climber.

yeah hopefully ill get another crack at him. i'm not able to get out nearly as much as i used to now that i got an 18 month mini me . but cant wait to start teaching him the ethics of hunting.
