I spend as much time in the woods as anyone and will bet I put on more miles than any 2 guys on here but I love our long weekend at camp when a group of buddies come up and we drink too much and hunt too little. I don’t think it has anything to do with a class of hunter. That dude is an obvious jabroni. 90% of Hamilton county is public land. Never tried the fusions but kleen bore aren’t hot enough for blackhorn. Thats what I shot when I shot pellets and had a couple thousand that I gave to a buddy because they were very unreliable with blackhorn. Remington sts are the best I’ve found. No one that hasn’t gotten the shot is going to get it. Other those that cave due to employer mandates. I think these idiots still think they’re going to convince us to get it. The only way they’ll get any more people vaccinated are by making life hell or bribery. Bribery was working very well in the low income and minority neighborhoods but that seems to have petered out. To me elk hunting was a lot like Turkey hunting, not so much of a skill game just finding the right bull at the right time when he’s in the right mood. I hunted my bull for 4 days and on the fourth day he ran in like he wanted to die. I hear the otc game is a lot different now than what it was in 04 and 05 when I was out there. Elks fun, but not something I have any desire to do again unless I could find a place to do it in the timber with snow. I put in for the 3 eastern moose draws every year. I’ve been around so many of them in the ADK’s it’s made me want to hunt them. When I was younger all I wanted to do was kill a bear, I’ve killed 2 and would try to talk one out of eating me before I killed another. But like you said to each their own. Glassing to me was boring. Tracking is what I love not because I care about killing another deer but because I live for the thrill and experience. I hate sitting in tree stands so I don’t do it very often. The planning side I understand for sure.
