Just hunt the public land I hunt, not too many deer so no shooting to scare you!! We hunt public land almost every opener. Have only been shot a couple times. Nothing serious, we all know from the season length thread that the pumkin army can't shoot worth a damn so usually nothing more than a limb or flesh wound. Good war stories for the bar at noon getting liquored up before we go in to start driving everything from Granny's back yard to the town center!

Southern zone pretty much coincides with boots on the ground. Opening morning, week then weekends.

Prob not worth checking my multiple Wegmans again if it went that fast!!

10/15 am 27 Out back in the far stand for 2.5 hours. I lightly pushed one something coming in. Not sure if yote or deer. About 20 minutes before legal I heard the footsteps of a yote coming from behind me. He came directly to me and I was hoping he would keep right on under and out in front where I could shoot it. He hit my trail by the tree and stopped and turned around and headed off. I tried to turn but he caught that. At 8:45 I heard the steps of a deer behind me. I could see a small buck coming across behind. He hit my trail about 50 yards out and smelling it decided to follow it right to the base of my tree. He was a little 4 almost 5 point. Not sure if he could smell a drag I did days ago or me and was curious. He then walked out front and gave me a couple 10-12 yard broadside shots. It was a close thing but he got a pass. Good thing for him I have a decent start in the freezer, otherwise he'd be hanging. I hope to see him many more times over the next couple of years. I am thinking of sneaking out work early today. I deserve it lol.

I hope Saturday is her day TF!! That 11/8 buck is a doozie! He looks well fed.

Like I said it was a close thing lol. I have a couple deer in the freezer, my doe and my sons NC buck. Plus this is out back on my property that my son hunts so better odds for him. I feel sick now that I am at work and may need to leave early

Had a little 4 point directly under me. Had him in the crosshairs at 12 yards. Man he does not know how close he was to dinner with 2 days of bow left and a buck tag in my pocket. 27 and chilly Lightly bumped one coming in. Just had a yote come in straight behind me. Was hoping for him to go right under and out front but he hit my trail and just turned around then he caught me trying to get turned little bastard! Really hoping to see some deer this morning. You've found them man stay put till morn!!

I've seen one deer in the last 23 hours on stand. Way out of the norm for the first two weeks of November. I am not giving in yet!! I got 3 more days before the gun season gets the deer really scarce......

10/14 am 36 Down in the outer hole stand for 2 hours overcast and quiet. Snow all gone. Not a thing moving. I am at a loss. My last 23 hours in stand has resulted in one deer sighting. I got 3 days to knock another down. I am really glad I got that early doe!!

I just use canning salt. Stew meat or cubed up muscle meat. Warm up with mushrooms and mushroom gravy over noodles. Bam good!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Very cool!! I have not seen one since I was a kid over 30 years ago up in the Dacks where the deer yarded up for the winter. I remember seeing 2 one year well after season.
