  1. If you are not part of the solution you are part of the problem. As the others said you are remiss not to call DEC tip line. It would also help if we had fines for violations that actually had bite. And the state quit raping the DEC so we had the staff we needed to do the job. And if bullchit was gold I have been given enough to be a billionaire!
  2. TC Triumph 50 cal. Shoot 777 150g with a Shockwave Super Glide

    Powder

I switched from pyro to 777 a couple years ago and I find it easier to clean and smells a lot better. Shoots well out of the TC Triumph as well.
  4. Dude I would not have stayed till dark either!! ???
  5. I have been a life member since some time in the 80's. It was better before they got bought out. I have tested a number of items including a CVA muzzleloader. Also got the free leather jacket so it well paid for itself. I still like the magazine as well. I used to like the forum a lot then they changed it and it got super slow so I did not go back.
  6. 12/13 Did get out in the vening for the last 45 min or so. It was snowing pretty good and was hoping to catch one moving as the storm started. No luck. The storm did not amount to much, 4 inches maybe. But it was cold and my butt stayed in bed this am where it was warm!
  7. Unless you have a good pack and game bags to carry the quarters out I would not go that route for fear of getting the meat dirty and it would dry out quicker losing more meat. And the pack because carrying 4 quarters is not going to be easy either. If you planned and packed for it it would be no problem it is not hard to skin and quarter a deer. You do need to have proof of sex check on specifics there, but as someone mentioned head most likely as well with a tag. It is also illegal to leave any meat so I am not sure how technical they get but a call to a DEC officer could probably narrow that down.
  8. Did take a walk out back Friday afternoon for an hour or so. The snow was melted down a lot but still about 20 inches. I did see a few tracks but did not want to really stir anything up and stress em more than they are. Went down to Tully Saturday with my brother. About 12 inches of snow on the ground. We stand hunted for a couple hours then had a bite then did a lot of walking trying to put up deer to each other. We did put up a few but never got one the right direction to even see one. We then sat for a last watch and I was about wiped after that. I do not want to think how many miles I walked! Slept in Sunday and then got a x mas tree. Went out behind the house this morning. The temp was 37 at 6am and snow down to about 8 to 10 inches. Lots of tracks on left side of property and zilch on the left. I did jump a small deer coming out and that is the first deer I have seen since Thanksgiving Day. That is pathetic!! Tem p now 21 with a storm comin in.
  9. Way to go Zem!! That will be one good eating deer! You know how antlers taste anyway right? Get up a pic!
  10. It is compacted depth so what is actually on ground. Can not say how accurate everywhere but I had over 50 inches fallen (Buffalo who?) but have about 30 on ground after settling so it is close where I am.
  11. I made a big batch the other night and they were ok but nothin to get excited about. They were just missing something a bit mild in taste. This was the first time I ever made venison meatballs. I have tons of recipes but figured it would be better to try some that others have tested and really love. Thanks in advance!!
  12. I have heard pickling is good but they don't last that long here. I will slice and pan fry in butter and consider myself lucky if the kids let me get a slice!!
  13. http://www.erh.noaa.gov/nerfc/graphics/snowmaps/html/snow_depth.html This comes in handy. You can check an area you may hunt but not be near. It is updated every day. I am in the nice bright orange right now. yik. :
  14. Great buck and congratz but the story went south with me on the Penn State reference!!ICK! ;D
  15. Thanks for the offer it is very nice of you. I got a ml antlerless so in a week I am free. I have one for 7m I will see how it is down there this weekend.
  16. Still have not been out. It snowed for over 80 straight hours and has amounted to somewhere between 40 and 50 inches!! The snow in my yard is up to the tops of my thighs and I am 6'2". Not what I would call great stand sitting conditons since I have small peices here not conductive to still hunting, if that would not kill ya in this snow. Hoping to get south or southwest this weekend and get out of this much snow! I am restricted to areas I have doe tags in until ML opens.
  17. pfft I have had over 40 inches of snow this week! I am hoping a drive to one of my other spots on the weekend will have less!!
  18. Did not get out Saturday due to other obligations. Did get out for a bit Sunday in the all the snow. Did hear some shooting but no luck for me. I have not been out since then and the snow has not stopped since then. We have had at least 3 feet so far. It is compressing on the ground but it is still sitting 2 feet deep. I was wishing for some snow but this is a bit much!!!
  19. 12/3 30 Out back for the last hour. Nice out still had a couple bursts of snow but nothing moving near me. Thought I heard one when I was coming in back in the thick stuff.
  20. 12/3 30 Got out back with my Dad for a couple hours same crunchy snow as yesterday. Only three sets of track in over 2 days. Not a good sign. It was a nice morning but no luck.
  21. Keep at it bud, at least your seeing some.
