I have been making canned venison for years. Learned from my Grandmother how. It is definetly super. I get a bit more picky with it and usually use steak and such and trim but that is just me. One of my favorites is taking a can and warming up with a can of mushroom gray and a can of mushrooms and serving over egg noodles. And yes it does make great soups and stews.

For my dedicated deer gun it is a 20. I get sick of target shooting the 12 and feel like a mule kicked me in the shoulder. It makes for poor shooting habits or not practicing. Also the 20 shoots flatter.

I bought an Etrex Legend for $40 buck new on clearance about 6 or 7 years ago, they went at the time for $150 or more. I was headed out west to hunt. I took it two years in a row but never did use it. I still have it but I have never read the hundreds of pages to operate it! Last year I used some miles and picked up the Bushnell backtrack and that came with a little 6 page instruction folder and is simple. I did use it a couple times this year when scouting new places. It is limited in only saves 3 spots. I think they have a new one out that does 5 or more. They sell fo $50 and give piece of mind. Just mark the truck and go. I have hunted the Dacks a lot and a few other big spots and I rarely ever even feel that I do not know where I am. I have very very good since of direction in the woods. I have been lost driving in just about half the major cities in this country. Including the one I have lived in for forty years!! My friend always joke I can not get across the city of Syracuse without getting lost but they could drop me miles in the woods from anywhere and I would walk right out.

I stand corected I thought it was illegal to leave anything over night but after rechecking it needs to be properly tagged. Good to know.

Right, because a treestand is equivalent to a human life. : I had a blind stolen from me this past season. I might spit in the face of the person who took it, but I would never condone shooting them. Think I would do a little more then spit in thier face > , but not kill anyone over a stand Its not worth an assault charge to me either lol I was not serious I would shoot someone! ??? I just find some people have no respect for anything. I believe in karma and sooner or later what goes around comes around.

SUNDAY YOTES WITH HOUNDS
Fletch replied to nycoyotehounds..BUB's topic in Small Game and Predator Hunting
Nice job on the yotes!! I live in Phoenix and wish I had more land I would love to see your dogs at work! Have you worked 3 Rivers at all? I hit a spot in there during ML that was choked with yote sign? Most of my usual spots around here during deer season the yote sign was way down. This is the first year in a while I have not shot a yote during deer season. I think I only saw one in over 60 days in the field. -
The snow here has been so deep I have not been out once for small game. We usually have some decent thaws but none so far this year.

I hunt a lot of public land. I solely use a climber. You can not leave a stand on state land overnight it is against the law. I have had a few stands stolen off private land and power company land. You should be able to shoot thiefs on site. I do see a lot of stands on state land, even built permanant stands. Heck last year I found a ladder stand set up on Howland Island that the guy cleared lanes with a chain saw. Cutting trees down also against the law. Some of us do not make the rest of us look to good.

Not in a long time. I think I have bowled 2 times just with the kids in the past 15 years. Before that I grew up bowling. Bowled in tourneys and a couple leagues a week, state champs, averaged in the low 200's. Bowled a 300. Just think I did so much as a kid I got burned out. I also worked in a bowling ally in the mid to late 80's as my step father was a Brunswick mechanic.

Man it amazes me how stupid people are!!! The owners of these pets should get smacked not the poor pets. They should charge them for endangering their pets. That second one the doe did not really perceive the cat as a threat even touching the fawn. She saw that dog 50 feet away and took after it like a shot! She new what a dog was and its' threat to her fawn.

Nice buck!
