Ok, not quite as crazy but still crazy...I saw that first pick with your shotgun in it and then the pic of the paddle board and I pictured you out there with the shotgun slung over your shoulder paddling away.... -

Is that a Paddle Board?! -
I was looking at rangefinders on Amazon. I have a super cheap Simmons that I bought used on ebay when I got into archery. It is ok but I would like something nicer. Saw this and thought it was interesting. Works for Bow or Crossbow and the reviews seem good and the price isn't bad. https://www.amazon.com/LaserWorks-Riflescope-rangefinder-Tactical-Shooting/dp/B06XF848V9/ref=sr_1_57_sspa?keywords=le%2Brange%2Bfinder&qid=1576690402&sr=8-57-spons&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEyUko3Mk45UE5BTkY0JmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwOTUyNzgyM05aRk01VTRBTk5HSCZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwOTQ0MTg5M0hGRzZaQjVaMUZZOSZ3aWRnZXROYW1lPXNwX2J0ZiZhY3Rpb249Y2xpY2tSZWRpcmVjdCZkb05vdExvZ0NsaWNrPXRydWU&th=1

Same here, I can't wait until I can just enjoy the snow. Then I may decide winter isn't so bad.....

We should keep this thread as a countdown......288 Days.....

One of my hunting buddies sent out a group text last night that said exactly this......

Just watched the video. I am going to try it for sure. I'll post my results. Thanks for posting!

Where are you located? Might be interested in talking to you if you are somewhat local to me. We lease two different properties and each have different rules from the land owner. We don't do any camping or anything but we do work on both leases, cutting access trails, trimming trees for shooting lanes etc. We are talking about putting in some food plots next year if there aren't any crops. Ultimately the landowner makes the rules......

Thanks Nomad! At this point, I am probably going to wait until after the holidays, look on some taxi sites as you suggested and give it a try. I appreciate it!

You can purchase extra ladder sections. That's what we do, although now we have so many stands we just piece them together. One extra ladder piece makes a big difference... -
Nice! Thanks for sharing....Do you get to spend much time hunting it?

007 / Storm banned but new account ?!

There are 12 guys on the hunting lease I am on.....5 of them are like my brothers. We hunt by far the most, do the most work, have the most stands etc. The other 7 guys hunt a couple times a year at most. They help offset the cost and that is about it. If they are there or aren't there doesn't bother me either way. One or two of those 7 are a PIA. Doesn't mean we don't make it work. There are probably 20 guys on here that are obviously good friends or have become good friends because of this forum. On this forum I am like one of the 7 guys on my lease. (Hopefully not one of the PIA ones) Those 20 or so guys, also provide the most "work" on this site, answering questions, helping out new hunters, responding to posts looking to help others in anyway possible. Even very new posters get tons of responses to their questions about deer hunting from the core group. If it wasn't for them this forum wouldn't be what it is.... They just need to ignore the couple that are a PIA......I don't understand why people get their panties in a bunch of crap from someone you don't know on the internet. -
This sounds like the way to go....Thank you! I am not understanding the need for the block of wood in your instructions. Also, when you cut out the antler holes there isn't any way to do it without seams correct? Do you have any pictures you can post? Maybe I will play with my smaller racks I just have mounted too a piece of barn board and see what I come up with first....
-
I bought two different kits at Runnings last night. They are both crap, not even real wood. One is plastic and the other is fiber board. I am going to return them and figure something out myself....
-
Those look nice Biz, I would be happy with that. I would have to angle the way I cut the skull differently to get it to sit flat like that. I don't think that would be a big deal. I cut mine more like the large one and think it look funny just screwed to the plaque like that. Do you have close up of just one of those...?
-
I hadn't thought about that...I am sure the three I would like to mount are 2 1/2 year olds…..
-
I saw that while searching online. I would like to see one in person. I picture the antlers mounted too a piece of plastic with that...Reviews seem good....
-
That bottom one on the brick wall is kinda what I had in mind....Did you make that or is a kit?

Well, its over for me as of yesterday. This has to be the fastest two and half months of the year. I am going to miss seeing the guys every weekend. Come on snow! I need snowmobile season to start! Good luck to everyone that is able to get out these last two days! -
I have 3 sets of Antlers on skull caps including this years rifle buck that I would like to do something with. 2 smaller 8 pts and a 6 pt. I have 3 smaller skull caps screwed too a piece of old barn wood and that looks OK and is just hanging in the garage. ( I wouldn't mind them looking nicer either) My plan was to purchase a couple of those plaques that come with the skull cap covers but the reviews on them sound terrible. I would like to hang them in my den and not be relegated to the garage. Anyone got any nice setups? Kinda wishing I tried Euro's but its too late for that....
