Giving up on Letchworth ?? (I know you can't be).

The Marlin .22 I bought a couple of years ago states in the owner's manual that modern ammo fires cleanly and therefore cleaning of the firearm isn't neccesary, yeah right.

Wow 9 fawn, that is amazing. I saw 3 fawn tonight eating the lawn at Webster Park here in Monroe County.I am assuming triplets.Saw 3 there last year too.

I received my lifetime license yesterday. As far as money being returned to the state I thought the Pittman-Robertson act returned money from sales tax collected for items like bows, firearms and the ammunition many of us can't buy due to it being out of stock . What is the amount returned to N.Y. from the Feds from the Pittman-Robertson Act ?

I love happy endings.BTW all these murderers or in this case potential murderer are mentally ill.I am glad the child is safe and hope the police officer is not going to have any issues from this. It is sad that the man with the knife couldn't have been helped somehow before this day happened.

A co-worker of mine did the same 8 or so years ago. He had been having some mental health issues that seemed to run in his family. Sorry that you all have to experience this.

I know what you are saying Doc. My neighbor was unhappy with deer eating flowers from her yard. I have a small vegetable garden but the deer have left it alone lately.I put coffee grounds and also some 1970's vintage Avon cologne on some cloth strips -so far it is working. -

Thanks all, glad you liked them. -
I am still surprised this fawn hung around just laying in the ivy and milkweed this week.I enjoyed the activity.

This fawn stayed in my yard for about 3 days this week until it finally left with mama doe.I have never experienced a fawn this close before.I enjoyed watching it run around and nurse.I will probably see it again eventually.

I have only been able to turkey hunt twice so far and have not heard a gobble since last season. I like to read what the rest of you are experiencing, thanks and good luck.
-
So that explains why we heard nothing this morning.I left by 9:30 due to no gobbling and windy all morning.

Hmm, there is some very flat land in northern Wayne County.Thinking of Sodus,Williamson and Ontario. I am no rifle expert but I would be concerned about a ricochet or missed shot at a deer traveling across an open field . A slug would pose the same danger at close range but I would be concerned with a high power rifle bullet being able to travel a greater distance.Sounds scary to me.

Beautiful.Congratulations to him.Nice to see Italy Valley on here, I hunted there once or twice .

Congratulations !

Congratulations ! Persistence pays off.

Nice bird ! You mean you don't use an extra extra super constricted kill em at 100 yds. turkey choke ? My buddy used his 870 cyl. bore last year too due to a last minute broken safety on his bird gun.

I heard no gobbles.I had a porcupine walk by me at about 10 yards and climb a tree, that was a first.
-
I have been seeing a few in Webster also along with plenty of deer. Here is a pic from 8F last year.

Yes I am looking forward to being out in the clean air listening to nature.I have been doing a little yard work to get ahead, bought a push pin box call because I always wanted to try one, and did some scouting.Found out a friend sold his house so there goes a great hunting spot filed away in to the memory banks.(sigh). Anyways can't wait to hear a gobbler sound off.
