Connected this afternoon with a 7pt and a doe. 7pt was chasing her around. They must have knew something was up cause we got in a staredown for a couple minutes. Then they looked like they walked off, only to come back. Tomorrow I’ll be butchering these two up.

How many bullets do you bring in the field when you hunt
diplomat019 replied to Deerstalker's topic in Rifle and Gun Hunting
I take a whole box. One year when i was younger i only took three in the shotgun. Missed on my first. And clipped him with my second on the spine. Unfortunately i had to go up and take care of him and i kept thinking “thank goodness i had one left”. Ever since then i take way more than i need. -
hunting without a truck how do you transport your deer
diplomat019 replied to Chef's topic in Deer Hunting
Thats how ive done it. Open contractor bags or a tarp. Its not ideal but it works -

I currently live in New Jersey so I was kind of basing it on proximity. But I'm not opposed to making the right move happen. -he is a male (intact) -clear bill of health. -I hunt quail and pheasant with him. Hes a bird dog and doesnt pay attention to fur. He also doesn't chase deer. -housebroken - he gets along with other animals. He lived with a cat for a year and had no issues. And has been with other dogs with no issues as well. -his name is roscoe.

Due to personal reasons i need to rehome my dog. Not an easy decision but one that has to be made. He is a 4 year old pure bred german shorthair pointer. He is a house dog. I have two young kids that he has been around with no issues. He hunts and i have posted on here about our time in the woods. I want him to go to a good home where he can still hunt and have a nice yard. I dont want money, i just want the right place for him. Pm me for any other details. Preferably westechester/putnam/ hudson valley area.

Lol. If it was it went completely over my head. Rob says he puts pine branches in there so i took him for real Im not super into scent control but i do wash and dry my clothes with earth scent detergent and dryer sheets. But after reading this thread it seems like a lot of people pay no mind to scent control as how they store their clothes.

Interesting. Is there a reason for the shaved ivory soap? Or is just something you always did?

Should We Erase Objectionable History
diplomat019 replied to Doc's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
i feel like we should replace the confederate statues with union ones. what do you think? lee was a loser. grant was a winner. we could put grant statues up in place of "lee the loser". plus we are northerners and grant was our guy. -
Gatorade or water. Coffee on the ride to where I'll be hunting. But i need to make sure there is a bathroom somewhere along route lol.

So you put the vapor barrier against the wall? How did you secure it
-
Thanks. Linoleum did cross my mind. You can put grout down too and they look very good. I have a buddy who did this. The floor looks level to the naked eye but it could obviously be off. Seems like pink boards could be the way to go. Im 6'4" and they have an old drop ceiling in place. Id say its a 7ft ceiling. A little low but im not uncomfortable so im gonna stick with a drop ceiling.

My plan is to redo my basement little by little. Here is the info on the basement. Partnof the basement is finished but extremely outdated. Id say the finished part consumes about 40% of the actual area. The rest of the basement is unfinished (slab and foundation walls). I have seen no signs of water at all. No smells. No calcium deposits in the walls. Nothing (lnock on wood). My neighbor said he finished his basement and its bone dry. So my plan is to knock down a wall (non load bearing) and open the area up. My utilities are all in one corner so about 75% of the basement is free. Here are my questions: 1- i plan on tiling the floor. Do i need to put some sort of a vapor barrier down before i tile? Or can i go right on the concrete slab. 2- how should i go about insulating the walls? I have seen videos of people putting pink insulation boards against the wall with adhesive. I have also seen insulation that has studs built into them. Cant recall the name.
