    I want to get my first wood and blue steel rifle. I love synthetics but I want something old school and classic looking. A rifle that is a thing of beauty. So I'm thinking either a Ruger Hawkeye Standard in 270, Winchester Featherweight in 270 or a Remington 700 BDL in 270. Which would you get?     I wouldn't say it's new but the last couple of weeks I've been using Google Earth to do "pre-scouting" and it's pretty cool. Helps you narrow your possible areas down once you physically put boots on the ground and save you a lot of time. Sent from my SM-G920T using Tapatalk

    So I have my opening day tag for Sterling (I see post like this pop up every season so I apologize for any redundancy) just in case but from everything I've read on here about the place, I'm not sure if it's worth it. I've been looking at aerial images of Sterling, Cranberry, Big Buck Mountain and a few other places before I physically scout. I'm looking mainly in the 3 zone areas that allow rifle hunting.     This guy went into a Macy's Dept store and killed five people. What makes this so different? From what authorities have said, looks like he used a hunting rifle. More fodder for the anti-gunners crowd. It won't be long until they try to class hunting rifles with ARs and AKs. Especially if they find out what we already know.... most hunting rifles are more powerful and more accurate that ARs and AKs. What are your thoughts? Sent from my SM-G920T using Tapatalk
