Aren't we all Americans?
nyantler replied to Caveman's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
So, you just gave me your interpretation on the constitution.. another liberal move...and your take on abortion is just sick... so far the courts have had the chance to legalize gay marraige and have decided in most cases not to... usually because of pressure from referendum results by a majority of the people... the other reason is because we have laws in place against it.. just like we have laws against pedifiles..who are american citizens and pursue happiness by preying on little kids... using your defence would say that poligamy should be legal... that if a citizen gets a kick out of farm animals he should be able to purue his happiness by marrying a goat.. and even though the goat is not a citizen the man should be entitles to that liberty... the key to that amendment is "due process of law".. the law is at this point in time for most place.. NO GAY MARRAIGE. and even if it wasn't.. can't stop a persons opinion on the subject. -

Are you kidding me Steve?.. how do you think every nation in the world was created? Someone came in and killed everyone and took over their piece of land... the diffence here is that we didn't kill every last native american, we conquered the land like every other society since the beginning of time... yet we allowed the indians to remain here as a soveriegn entity. Thats how it was done in those times.. it was survival of the fittest....somehow we are any different than the british, the Romans, mongolia? People need to get off this poor native american crap... if we did it like every other society before us.. there would be NO native americans. Sure, there was barbarism since the beginning of time. The BIG difference is that other nations don't go around touting FREEDOM like we do. We go telling everyone about how free we are and think everyone else should be the same, but never acknowledge what we done to others to get these great freedoms. I don't hear the other countries proclaiming themselves to be as great as this country likes to tell everyone. A little modesty can go a long way. Hypocrisy is easily identifiable. They don't tout freedom because they aren't free! Even the native americans here are free... the fact is they could have been extinct. -
I am glad you are finally starting to realize this. Hopefully more hunters will come to this realization also. All one has to do is look at it all from all the different perspectives. Maybe one day you will realize that just about everything involved around QDM was made up to benefit the hunter way more than it will benefit the deer. QDM theories were the brainchild of biologists that were paid by hunters to come up with some new ideas, so with all honesty who would one think that would be benefitting most from it?? Shouldn't take anyone too long to figure it out, really. You're the exact type person that I'm talking about... close minded and basing your opinion on what you think you know about how and why the QDM concept came about... what has become of it and what it started out as are two separate things... and I'm nearly positive you didn't even know what it was 17 years ago.

Its not necessarily abot the gun laws that you don't see a problem with.. its about the ones that you do... basically your saying that we shouldn't buy into the NRA BS, which is to stand up for the 2nd Amendment and our right to keep and bear arms... the law doesn't say.. keep and bear "certain" arms -

Generally speaking a conservative is against gay marriage, freedom of choice, freedom of religion, and a separation of church and state. (Last one's not a constitutional right but rather a Supreme Ct. interpretation of the first amendment) i suppose that is what I meant. I don't know any conservative that is against freedom of religion... freedom of choice means electing to kill a baby or not.... and there is no such law of separation of church and state.. the law just says that the government will not impose a religion upon the people.. which has nothing to do with individuals wanting to have prayer groups in schools and the like... and there is nothing in the constitution that says gays can marry or not marryYou sound like a young man by your stance on liberal and conservative views.. most young people thinks that riding the fence is the politically correct thing to do when it comes to politics... riding the fence with no political conviction leaves the door open for all of the crap that has gotten us where we are today.. The constitution is pretty clear... thats why liberals feel threatened by it and want to change it. -
I think it will have to reach 100 pages without me.. I'm tired

just because 2 hunters in the country caught the virus doesn't mean I'm gonna become the boy in the plastic bubble.. or is that the rubber glove?

yeah .. I stand corrected.. I guess it's true you can grow big deer using the Frankenstein method... the sad part is that these are the real arguments and examples used to discredit sound management plans... people like Rocket will look at that buck and be totally convinced that nutrition is the only thing that matters. I can't believe I keep letting myself get pulled in to trying to educate anyone about the concept of deer management... the funny thing is as much as I am a hardcore believer in deer management... the truth is it would have no affect on me as a deer hunter and I wouldn't lose one minute of sleep if the concept never took hold in NY... In nearly 17 years of speaking on QDM ... I am realizing that most hunters don't care about any of it as it pertains to benefiting the whitetail.. but only the parts that benefit them as hunters.. for the first time.. I happened on the Land Management and QDM portion of this forum.. only to find that the first 10 threads and nearly all the other threads were directed towards food plots. After 17 years thats the one thing that guys have taken from all the things that deer management has offered? I really always just thought QDM was a great concept... and was something that at least all hunters should be aware of when it came to the future of hunting and whitetail herds in NY... what I didn't realize and do now is that most hunters really don't care about much more than just killin' deer. It'll feel good not arguing my point any more... be more fun just sitting back and enjoying the entertaining arguments.

For one .. I am not scared and they don't make me send them money... I choose to send money if I think it's necessary.. I'm a lifer .. and like VJP.. they don't bother me at all asking for money... just keep me informed on current anti-gun legislation... If you think its all propaganda then you aren't paying attention to whats going on... -
Ok, so you can feed them until they get so fat that they can't walk.. but still, if they don't get older their antlers won't grow bigger...the fact is that in the first 2 years of a bucks existence the majority of nutrition goes to building their body to maturity... so regardless of how much nutrition they get their antler will only get so big.. even captive deer don't grow the monster racks at 2.5 ... it's just a biological fact.

Wow.. now that's what I'm talking about!! Finally a man with the balls to tell it like it is... great post! -
Nutrition is very important for growing antlers.. so is lack of stress... soil.. but no matter what a deer eats or how healthy he gets... if he doesn't live past 1.5 years he will never have big antlers... period.. so I would say age is pretty important for growing big antlers and big deer.

nyantler replied to Caveman's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
Yes he did dream it would get this bad.. thats why he said it... and the liberal progressive mentality wants to take away the american label and move towards being globalists... one world/ one people... that is why its important to fight back hard for the original conservative values our fore-fathers fought and died for... the more we have allowed liberalism into society (since the 60's) the farther we have gotten from what this country originally stood for almost 250 years ago -
