  1. I had someone try that on me once...JUST ONCE!
  2. Little farther out than space Doc... just ramblin' now...
  3. Isn't it something how huys just love their dogs..? Great pics fellas
  4. Culver have you ever noticed the guys that say that they can't financially spend the gas money to go elswhere to hunt .. are usually telling you that as they lay a $20.00 bill on the bar to buy a round of beer..lol
  5. I hate when I get a few miles back in the woods and realize i left my lunch in the truck..that sucks
  6. Yes we have about 120 acres of clover that the farmer planted in various spots around the property .. it is intermixed with the existing grasses that were already there and is not fertilized or weeded and can only be cut every 2 years... some NY program he got into years ago. As for hybrid clover not being made to increase rack size.. check out the Whitetail institute page.. Imperial Clover and Imperial Alfa Rack along with some of their other products are marketed as just that .. and also marketed as deer magnets... Thats ok.. if thats what your into.. I am not
  7. I have a deer cart.. it works great! saves a lot of backaches
  8. Yeah thats cool if they are clearing woods for the crop... great idea in fact ... most of the plots I know of are planted on open ground...
  9. amazed at the time that must have been spent on the quality of the bras and panties... someone has way too much time on their hands
  10. You can do it in a day, but really hard to take everything in.. but it would still be worth the trip
  11. Building Contractor 25 years and Martial Arts Instructor .. use to have a hunting magazine and an outdoors TV show in the 90's (no money in that.. believe me)
  12. What do you say to our hunting brothers in the Daks that don't have permits? Seems like most everyone forgets, is unaware or just doesn't care that there are NO DMP's in the Daks! It's pretty tough for us guys to pass on a small buck to shoot a doe if we don't have a DMP. ;D Just curious , but why not get a dmp for another area and take a trip to some state land to hunt? Just a thought
  13. Took me 2 years Geno to find just the rigth spot for my needs
  14. I hae a friend that has an organization that takes Physically challenged individuals hunting and fishing here is his site www.advancedstrategiesadventures.org his name is Lloyd Wiegel... you can probably contact him through the site.. I'm sure he would be happy to help in any way!
  15. I didn't say you voted for anyone.. i was just wondering.. and I never said the word religion at all or referenced religion. I just said that the more you open your mouth the farther your foot goes in... ;D
  16. I'm sure that's not why they were planted 50 years ago...but... it's more the motive behind food plots that bothers me...just curious why more of the food plot guys don't plant much in the way of browse! hmmm...
  17. OK guys before you go jumping all over me.. go back and read my posts.. I'm not totally against food plots... Burmjohn I already spoke on natural food sources (specifcally apple orchards which we have on our property).. and I'm pretty sure I mentioned portions of the adk park as winter kill areas in my last post cwhite... I'm not going to argue my point about food plots... I don't condemn those that use them... Some of the motives and over use of hybrid foodplots leave a bit of a bad taste in my mouth is all. I'm just not a big fan of them... and I'm not the kind that sits over a field and waits for deer to come into it.
  18. So now you are just trying to say things to stir things up? You make less and less sense with each post... stay with the topic dude!
  19. If you're paying much less than $400 bucks you may be disappointed with the final product...
  20. There are VERY few places that have any significant winter kill in NY... some in the Highmarket area where they actually clear out huge wintering yards for deer... some area of the adirondack park. But if you hunt anywhere near suburbia there is no need to plant food plot to reduce winter kill.. and if you are planting plots to produce bigger bucks then you have just proven my point about the motive of food plots... to farm for bigger bucks and keep deer from leaving a given property... Hey if thats what blows your skirt up that okay by me .. just not my cup of tea
  21. That is exactly right.. thats why I don't really concern myself with them much.. other than just to have some extra useless knowledge that I don't have room for... I'm gettin' where I gotta get rid of some to put new stuff in!
  22. OMG! If you keep this up Pocket Rocket.. you'll have not only your foot in your mouth but your whole leg! What are the chances that you voted for Obama too??.. you're killing me here! :
  23. I side with freedom FROM speech... meaning I don't have to listen to your BS if I don't want to ;D
  24. I wasn't trying to bash people who meat hunt... I get 2 dmp tags usually every year... and I usually try to fill them with the muzzleloader. I guess my true point was more about guys being so worried about the little stuff.. they're either mad at the DEC, or the coyotes, or the neighbor hunting next door, or the weather, or the cost of this and the amount of that..I say just shut up and hunt. Te rest of the stuff might be fun to chat about with the boys a bit but when it comes down to it... a successful hunt is all about you and your approach to deer hunting, not about anything else. like I said.. if there was just one big buck left anywhere to hunt.. I would hunt strictly for the excitement I would get from the challenge of killing that one buck with out any complaints
