  1. Some ahole dumps coyote, fox, and deer carcasses next to the driveway of our lease every year
  2. lol I was too, just got home from a Pitt/Cleveland swing. Saw a lot of nice country in Pa
  3. This is counter productive for me because now I won't hunt 9F until the 15th, and there's a good chance I would take a doe if I did. I never pass up a doe during archery but I can't sit if I have to pass a big buck should one show up.
  4. I'd like to see some simple math on this: bow hunters in those zones, success rates, and number of does they want taken
  5. we are on the same page, in just saying .001 to .003 isn't ever going to show up in either situation so save the $
  6. I shoot a lot of 3D and switch arrows a lot, so I currently hunt with CE Maxima Reds that are .001 straightness because I have them leftover. Having said that there's really no reason to hunt with expensive shafts like those, the Bemans or Cabelas shafts that are .003 and inexpensive will fly exactly the same at hunting distances
  7. This looks like an iPhone solution http://www.idownloadblog.com/2011/05/27/airstash-iphone-expandable-memory/
  8. Sure would. They'd get more does shot the first hour than this current plan though but they'd never mess with the regular season
  9. if we fail then next year they can make the gun season doe only for the first weekend, see how that goes over.
  10. There's something about sitting in my tree in pitch dark before shooting light that I'm addicted to, turkey woods too. I go in very early but take a long root around to avoid crossing fields
  11. Bend at the waist! It's critical. Practice from a tree stand too
  12. A guy like that oughta be happy if another Hunter tags out on a small buck anyway!
  13. exactly right. I won't hunt 9F until the 15th and would most likely have killed a doe in that time. There's no way I'm sitting a stand that I'd have to let a good buck go by. I'll still hunt ML though, I've literally never seen an antler in 19 years of hunting the late season but have taken some does
  14. just shoot one of the dozens of doe that they seem to think are crawling around our bow stands presenting easy shots that we won't take
  15. so get ready to be in the woods, in full Camo with full foliage, with hunters toting tack driving muzzleloaders.
  16. shame on me for missing the comment period but to your point, it's a complete waste of breath
  17. I have a spot in 9F that I can scout a few times late September and pattern a few bucks since it's close to home. That strategy is out the window now. I won't sit there if I have to let a buck that I want walk, I'll wait until the 15th to hunt it. And yes I do kill at least one doe there every year but usually later in gun season. The way hunting is headed in NY I really would like to get on a huge lease so we can somewhat control who hunts when with what. Early ML for does will happen next year, bet on that
  18. a yearling buck is 1.5 years old, do you mean button bucks?
  19. You'll get the hang of it quickly and will set it up quietly. Do yourself a huge favor and get the stabilizer straps from thirdhand archery, they make a Summit stand rock solid. They cost $20
  20. Great advice ^. You can get a one year old $900 bow for under $500, I'm a big fan of buying used
  21. I had one come tearing across a field barking its head off, it stopped about ten yards away and barked the whole time as I crossed the field, then went back. I'm guessing it had a litter and just wanted to escort me away from them?
  22. "What do you do at a yellow light?" "Slow down, Jim." "What....do you do....at...a....yellow.......light?"
  23. I bought a Remington electric one, it has great reviews. I've taken 30-40 limbs down, some over 6", and it hasn't slowed down. It was only $99. I got an estimate of $575 for the work so if it died today I'm way ahead
  24. JRM you're dead on about sitcom writing. Watch two and a half men or most any other sitcom, you know what lame line is coming before they even say it. Network shows are horrible
