Our home sauce with hot Italian sausage and pepperoni. Homemade garlic bread. Had the sauce in the crockpot since 9AM. Sent from my SM-S327VL using Tapatalk

We looked at Chimney a few years ago when we went up, no pets was the deal breaker. My dog goes on every camping trip be it a tent or a cabin. It's my decision, and I went with the hunting trip for two reasons. 1 being, she doesn't fish much so I don't think she would really enjoy the TP trip, nothing to do really but fish. That would also have been a mid to late June trip. 2 being, at least with the cabin she can take her laptop and a few movies to enjoy while I'm in the woods. She loves to read, and reads all the time, but I wanted an option for her. Not at Taylor as that would be June trip, so no hunting. Driftwood is the best option for both, but this will be a mid to late October trip. The only downside is the only real scouting will be done with maps and no actual boots on the ground. I'm OK with that for a trip like this. It's a DIY from a cabin. I appreciate the info, thank you all, please keep any other insights or information you are willing to share coming.

I only have a few minutes, But would like to see what you folks would do in my situation. I finally talked the wife into going to a pretty remote area for a week next Summer for a week so I can get some fishing in. Then today on the way home from our vacation she asked me if I would want to stick with the fishing trip to Taylor Pond, or spend a week at Camp Driftwood on Indian Lake for a bow hunting trip. I know what my decision was, and is. But just curious what any of you would do. So what so you? A week fishing or a week bow hunting?

OK, for the reading impaired, we are down to the last few days until the bow opener for both the NZ and SZ. Let's those ONE shots ( for the reading impaired or the dyslexic that's the very first shot after not shooing for a day or two to simulate a hunting situaltion ) that count with a BH. One arrow. Not a group! Sent from my SM-S327VL using Tapatalk

I have one place I hunt in 4B, start out at the bottom wind might be the most common SW, at the top, it sometimes changes by the second making 'playing the wind' almost impossible. So I even decided to use scent killer this season. Winds in any mountainous area can and most often are very tricky. Sent from my SM-S327VL using Tapatalk

Thank you and I agree. The odd thing is, there's an island lighthouse in the bay, and were almost exactly straight across from it at Ford's as the beach we were at in RI. Cool, but odd at the same time. Not sure anyone can see the lighthouse in either pic, but another cool thing was, sunny in RI, cloudy in CT. Both pics of the bay it's clearly noticeable. The woods have always been that one place where I just relax and let the haze clear outta my head. Not just hunting, camping, fishing, hiking..... Now that I actually live in the country I make it a point to go to my little spot and relax. I can't hunt there, but enjoy sitting and watching the critters and relaxing. Sat in that little spot many times over the past few years in the non hunting times. I have gotten to the point where I hate going anywhere near a city. Sent from my SM-S327VL using Tapatalk

I wasn't upset about the sub, I had a good laugh about it. You don't see the humor that 15 pizza joints only have ham and turkey cold sandwiches but the Mexican place did? The reason for the subs was to have half last night, and the rest at the beach in RI. Ended up forgetting them anyway. LOL. Been a great trip, but looking forward to going home to my pup tomorrow. RI and CT sides of the bay, early dinner at Ford's. Best NE clam chowder we have had to date, lobster roll was great as well. Thanks again Buckmaster7600 for that tip. Sent from my SM-S327VL using Tapatalk

Thought it was SM, but no. Up past the art museum there's another Oyster club. Look up the Treehouse. Sent from my SM-S327VL using Tapatalk

There's SM Oyster Club. Then around the corner past the art gallery there's another Oyster Club that also has the Treehouse with happy hour specials. Sent from my SM-S327VL using Tapatalk

There's Abbots and Costellos, both owned and run by the same people, hence the names. There are also 2 oyster club's. Sent from my SM-S327VL using Tapatalk

I know, but Italian, or even a roast beef grinder is hard to find. Some places they call them hoagies or hero sandwiches. Sent from my SM-S327VL using Tapatalk

What a PITA it is to get an Italian sub here. The only place that had them was a Mexican food joint. Try and figure that one out. Late dinner. Sent from my SM-S327VL using Tapatalk

Wanted a change up for round 9. Another Narragansett, one of those so/so Buds. Or the last JD and cola. This was my decision. Sent from my SM-S327VL using Tapatalk

I have a few areas near me, no problem at all having some one hunting with me. Shoot me a pm with your number if this might interest you. I won't be back from my vacation until Saturday night though. No hunting talk with the wife on this trip. Sent from my SM-S327VL using Tapatalk

Steve863 hit the nail on the head for that area. Redneck, not positive what you are asking. Are you looking for people who hunt public land to invite you for a hunt and sign over a DMP ? Or are you looking for someone to hunt with on public land and you will try this late to get your own DMPs ? Sent from my SM-S327VL using Tapatalk

This state doesn't regulate my colors, Realtree and Mossy Oak. So nope, wearing my colors proudly. Sent from my SM-S327VL using Tapatalk

We hit the aquarium, then Old Mystic Village, grabbed a snack and beer sampler at Jealous Monk, then downtown Mystic for the art gallery, then the Treehouse so I could have me some fresh oysters. Stopped by the local packy for room beer. Having a good time. Sent from my SM-S327VL using Tapatalk
