  1. Heading out now...last bow hunt for November Not sure if I'm gonna still hunt the snow or actually try to harvest an antlerless and get in a stand.
  2. Thinking about one more go with the bow... In this white stuff I think I'm actually looking forward to busting this out:
  3. Does are yarded up Nov 15...winter is coming train of 12 or so came through my backyard at 5:45 this morning (atleast 6 in this pic):
  4. Not sure...I get that, ha. If the answer is 1 it's not really a question of fearing death but of your children facing life without their father. I love the hunting you are doing but there are things you can do to try and help preserve your life despite hunting in remote (New York) locations. A healthy fear of death is nothing to be ashamed of!
  5. My previous experience with foodplots were just some decent sized "kill plots" Next season I am planning on using the 5 acre field at the base of my lease with some different more nutritional options...im planning on keeping this lease a long time so I'll be more patient ha!
  6. I once grew the most beautiful patch of purple turnips and it snowed all gun season...one broke off buck was all I ever scored in it (2014): There were clovers and snow peas in there and it was still practically untouched...never heard the "didn't know it was food" theory but I buy it
  7. I gotta think of something clever to post under quoting cabins stud buck when this thread gets to the next page Lots of bucks this week I don't like to repeat myself...great deer everyone
  8. It's rated at 348fps from the factory but I am throwing 520grain telephone poles out of it so I'd be a bit surprised if it's still reaching 300...never chronod it myself. The performance is really nice but some features I really like are integrated hook and broadhead wrench (use it every hunt), the super slim design, and the soft coating on the riser...so quiet. Mine does not have the handle but now it appears all models have that...not my cup of tea but I see the point of it.
  9. There are so many small public parcels in NJ that it is possible to get on neighborhood deer
  10. Went to the lease with intent of installing the blind on my dad's double ladder... As soon as I got out of the truck 2 bedded doe left the field and made there way fairly quickly up the north face... So I did some tracking but never saw them again...no chores done either but lots of good info and had a red fox trot past me 10 yards no idea I was there On the way home stopped at a public spot I hunt and got on more sign:
  11. Actually my cousin may have a couple little spots but that bruiser was on public and I've seen good ones at spruce run...gotta go pick up my rv from Johnstown today I'll get back to you with specifics about season and stuff via pm.
  12. Nothing to see in Jersey (3 buck tags unlimited does, hunt early September to xmas to march) I haven't been in a while but they are thick with whitetails and black bears. Biz lots of time to put an arrow thru a deer...meet at your place on the way down?
