Well it was shot sunday morning, processed already...but good to know for the next time.

Thats the thing, ur getting ticketed, probably having the guns or bows or whatever u had on u confiscated. Then you have to fight it on your court day. Maybe the judge is leanant maybe they are not.

All these laws are so theres no way a warden has to "take your word". " I wasnt hunting ducks with the lead, i was carrying it for pheasants." Same as i had no intentions of shooting a deer with the crossbow, its for turkey.

My father pheasant hunts where there is also good duck hunting. If he gets his pheasants he then goes back the truck to get his steel shot because he can not carry lead shot and steel. If a warden found him with both its a ticket. It doesnt matter if he was illegally hunting ducks with lead, you can not posses lead shot while duck hunting.

I would be thrilled, ive been hunting with him for the last probably 16 years. His father died when he was 10, his uncle was taking him then but he died 13 years ago. Both from cancer from agent Orange in Vietnam. So it would mean the world to me if he got a monster. We have a 150" on camera so thats what im hoping for.

Yea i got a doe opening morning too. Now im goin to try and get my brother in law a good buck. Hes never shot anything bigger than a 1.5 yr old 7 pt. So its now zeeks guide service.

Ummm, guessing 3.5, no guess on weight i have to get a scale. And Doty taxidermy in kendell ny. Its a 45 min drive from my house but hes a good friend of a good friend of mine. Told him if i got a wall hanger id go with him. Well he did my gun buck last year and it came out great, so im goin back to him.

First time measuring so im sure i messed up but i got 123 7/8 gross, netted 121 4/8. Ill wait my 60 days and see how close i was. I used my dads SCI measuring kit, he was watching and didnt correct any of what i did. Picked the mount out today also, went with full sneek, i have 3 semi sneaks so wanted something differant.

Ive been following along. I have to say, this is no differant than myself carrying a .22 pistol or rifle with me to my stand along with my bow. I could say its for squirels, but that doesnt matter you have to pick 1 or the other. It is illegal to posses a weapon that is illegal to take deer with while bow hunting. Right now it is illegal to take a deer with a crossbow. Not sure how this has made it to 6 pages...

I belive i read centerfire 22, soo that could be a bunch of differant bullets. But a .22 at 500ft makes more sense since it didnt penatrate his chest.

No tape on him yet hes at the processor now. Then headed to the taxidermist. Ill have my dad measure before that though.

Light but occasionally hit them hard together. Last a few minutes. Repeat every half hour.

Ive had luck rattling this year, rattled in a 4, and a 6 on seperate occasions. This morning had a doe and button buck in early. Then around 815 i rattled in a 4 and a small 6. They came in together and moved off behind me. I rattled again at 9. This time a nice 7 came in i was tempted at first. Had the release hooked up but decided i didnt want him to b the buck that ends my bow season. So i started video taping him on my phone. I got about 1.5 mins of video then he walked off behind me. I look up and a much larger buck is walking in on the same path. Hes already only 40 yarfs out. He works his way in to about 25 yards and crosses behind some trees, i drew back and he walked into a swamp behind me. I took the shot when he was just over 20 yards. Shot looked good but didnt look like it penatrated that much. The arrow fell out after he spun and took off. I thought i saw him drop but wasnt sure. The 7 took off with him and wasnt sure what deer i was looking at. I climbed down after 20 mins, found my arrow that was missing about 5" of arrow and the broadhead. I backed out for 1.5 hrs. Brought my son back to help with the track. I circled around the swamp and picked up blood on the other side. It was a easy track that led to the spot i thought i saw a deer drop. Heavy bases split browtine. Beautiful buck.

Yea dragged him about 75yards to my nearest trail, then let the tractor do the work.

Watching a video of the 7pt that had me tempted and in the background i got the bigger buck walking in without me even knowing.
