  1. They do have the right to go onto anyone's property to investigate complaints. A couple of years back neighbor was baiting and they walked in and caught him in the tree hunting. The ECO gave him a ticket for baiting and not reporting a earlier kill.
  2. Call Bernie Broztek he sells alot of camps in the Northerntier. He sold one this spring with power, septic and well with 48 acres for 52k. It was in Osceola.
  3. I used one during bow season and called in a nice 8 and shot him at 22 yards. He came from roughly 120 yards across a bean field. They work well with a decoy it keeps their attention off of you.
  4. Buck, if you are 22 you should get your ass back to school and learn how to spell.
  5. This is where you said if your spotlighting your jacking deer.
  6. I am using Windows XP and am on Road runner. The browser is Microsoft that was installed on laptop. thank's for your help.
  7. In my opinion it is a hit in the liver or near the liver area. This is just an opinion.
  8. Look on Craigslist there is usually some decent used compacts on there. I bought a nice Massey 8 years ago that has been a good tractor. The model is a 1035 4 wheel drive. Good luck they are fun to screw around with.
  9. The lady handler said they follow the blood and can pick that deer out of a herd. She said they find the deer alive sometimes and she has permission from DEC to dispatch the deer. Before she started tracking the deer she has to notify the DEC what area she will be working in. They need the county, town and nearest crossroads to get permission from the DEC. I hope this helps incase you need them.
  10. Seems to be slow loading and slow to change to a new subject.
  11. I just used them today on a one lung and liver hit. There was good blood for about 150 yds the 2 bb size drops. They met me at 10 am and the little dachshound found him 50 minutes later. The handler was a woman out of Liverpool NY. The little dachshound did a great job. She told me they can track them even after a rain storm. I was impressed!!!!!!!!!!
  12. They kick them out during the breeding period. The fawns don't leave for good when the buck is done chasing and breeding the doe they return. How many times have you seen does with fawns late season?
  13. Keep shooting all of them because next years herd grows on trees. Then complain when you don't see any deer.
  14. Why do hunters need the DEC to set their harvest choice? If the majority of the people supposedly want AR they would just do it on their own. I believe these same people don't have the self discipline to do it themselves. If I want to shoot a buck I will shoot a buck no matter what size he is. This is just one step more in controlling how we hunt. We should loosen restrictions to encourage more hunters rather than discouraging them.
  15. Where we hunt we don't shoot Does and believe me we get real nice deer each year. I believe if you want more deer you can't kill the supplier. We used to hunt near ithaca 30 years ago when you needed 2 people for a permit. When it went to 1 person per permit the deer population really suffered. There wasn't a deer to be seen. We got together with the neighbors and everyone agreed to stop killing the Does and within 3 years the population rebounded. I know there will always be some does shot but to kill alot of them in small areas really affects the herd. I don't believe the State should beable to tell a 70 year old hunter he can't shoot what he wants. Let the people who hunt the area decide what policy they want to live by. I know I saw alot more deer 15 years ago before all the DMP's were given out. This is just my 2 cents right or wrong.
  16. Check out the Versatube buildings. They would bolt right on the concrete pad. There isn't any wood on them they are made of all steel.
  17. I have a Viper winch on a Polaris Ranger. It has a remote and dash mounted rocker switch. They seem to be a well built winch. I bought mine at Motoalliance. You can Google "Viper winch" that should get you a dealer near you. They were great to work with. They are also on E-bay.
  18. I bought 223 shells last year at Gander Mt. when I was driving home I got thinking they seemed awful expensive. I called Basspro and they had the same shells for 23.99 the GM price was 39.99. I ended up calling the GM manager who priced matched Basspro. The ammo prices at GM are way out of line. They had 17hmr shells on sale went there none were in stock and no rainchecks. This is the Cicero GM and Auburn Basspro.
  19. I have a 2009 Polaris Ranger 700xp. They are great for work and play. I use mine for the same things you mentioned. They have the largest payload capacity of the SxS from the major brands. The new ones are EFI and run really good without any major problems. I use mine at for hauling wood and sometimes rcoks the bed is real handy.
  20. I like the Ranger better for work purposes. The quads were more agile in the woods. I needed seating for three so the Ranger was the clear choice. I have a camp near Osceola and the Ranger is handy for firewood and setting treestands. They make a 400 Ranger that is a two seater that might fit your needs better. If you price the larger quads they aren't nmuch cheaper than the Rangers.
  21. I owned two 500's one was a 98 and the other was a 01. Both were great machines. I now have a 09 Ranger xp. The Ranger is nice if you have a need to haul alot of stuff or three passengers. Hope this helps make your decision easier. The main thing is to find a reliable dealer.
  22. Sorry for the confusion. I was talking about Tim's Guns in Elbridge. I guess it would be better if I included that in the post. SORRY!
  23. My brother bought a 22 there before Christmas. I asked him how the prices are and he said they were cheaper than the big stores. The guy that runs the archery shop next door is also real knowledgable about bows and how to set them up. The bow shop has been in business probably 15 to 20 years.
  24. I agree with Culver, let's make treestand hunting illegal also. One possible solution would be to open for the guys to shoot doe only on the last two days. That is how they used to do it in PA. This would make you have to identify your target each part of the season.
  25. Cabelas had the Burris Fullfield II for 199 and they give you a good set of binoculars to boot. Burris has an excellent lifetime warranty.
