As someone here once posted in another thread about "Anti-Hunters", emotion wins over facts. Facts tend to be boring and most people tune out fairly quickly when numbers are used to support facts, when using emotions to get their point across the "Anti's" don't have to overcome the boredom and quick lost of interest that those in favor of hunting have to overcome when using facts and numbers to make their point. Seems like we need a different approach then quoting numbers and facts when making a case to preserve hunting to those who are undecided.

I just read in NY Outdoor News that the problem with increasing the penalties for poaching deer has to do with the judges who hear such cases. It appears from the article that a lot of judges already think the current fine is too high for the crime and because of this they plea bargain these cases down resulting in what can best be described as a "slap on the wrist". If these judges think the current fine is too high what makes you think they will impose the newer far higher fine? As in most criminal cases plea bargaining will surely result in most people receiving a far lesser penalty then what this new law calls for. While on paper and in theory this new law sounds good reality most likely will provide a different outcome.

Rob, when you can argue without repeating the same mind numbing, senseless right wing bullsh#t then perhaps I will answer your question. And yes I live in the NYC area. -

Really what's the game?

Unlike the Republicans the Democrats will line up behind their candidate and will support Hilary. The Republican party is fractured with Republican leadership 100% against Little Hitler (aka Donald Trump). Bernie supporters will line up with Hilary for the simple fact that Trump is disliked by a large majority of people, especially those who support the Democrats, namely woman and Latinos, two groups who universally hate him. And without the support of those two groups it will be extremely difficult for Little Hitler to win the general election. -

I'm more competent then a right wing fool like you could ever be. I refuse to follow the Gestapo like tactics that the Republican campaign for president has sunk down too. Too bad you and many others here can't say the same. -

What lulls me to sleep at night is the enjoyment of seeing Little Hitler (aka Donald Trump) losing in a landslide. But what will be even more enjoyable is watching the reactions of the right wing nuts when Hilary wins and the Democrats regain control of Congress -

Not a single candidate running on the Republican ticket is worth voting for. None are liked by either the Republican party itself or by mainstream voters. Once again by appealing to their out of touch with reality extreme right wing nuts they will once again lose another presidential election -

Trump is disliked by over 60% of the general population, the only other "candidate" who was disliked more was David Duke -

The republicans, in trying to appeal to their radical right wing base make the same mistake every election cycle. They move so far to the right that they lose all support from moderates and independents and the result is always the same. In pleasing their right wingnut supporters and talking their extreme right wing nonsense they end up losing the general election. Get ready for Hilary and properly a democratic controlled congress, especially if Little Hitler (AKA Donald Trump) wins the nomination. Putting Trump on top of the GOP ticket has the GOP leadership admitting that it will lose the White House and there also exists a very good chance of them losing Congress because they fear that the republican voters who have a brain will simply not come out to vote at all. -
Fishfinder has arrived. Not too crazy (insane maybe lol) about how transducer attaches to boat with suction cup, I don't see it as being easy to do once boat in water due to the fact that I would have to hang way over transom to properly attach it to bottom of johnboat. Going it install it instead onto trolling motor.

So you believe the US government is some oppressive regime and that you and a bunch of other right wing radicals can take up arms against and beat back? Good luck with that. -
Another as#hole response from Jerkman, the name truly fits the man.

The Tubman $20

I don't think too many people really care who's face is on what dollar bill. I would bet that expect for who's on the one dollar bill very few people can tell you who's on what. Especially since most transactions today are done cashless. -
The Bundy's to remain in jail where they belong. LAS VEGAS, April 21 (UPI) -- A federal judge in Las Vegas ruled that brothers Ammon and Ryan Bundy should remain in jail while awaiting trial for the 2014 armed standoff with law enforcement in southeastern Nevada that became known as the "Bundy standoff." U.S. Magistrate Judge George Foley Jr. on Wednesday denied the brothers' motions for release from federal custody. Ammon Bundy's attorney, Daniel Hill, argued his client should be released because he was attempting to prevent violence during the incident and cautioned others against bringing firearms to free the Bundy's cattle that had been rounded up and corralled by the federal Bureau of Land Management near Bunkerville for nonpayment of grazing fees. In the courtroom, Hill also attempted to paint a violent picture of federal abuse by the BLM against the Bundys, stating the agency "constructed and built a compound" of towers in the farmland with armed snipers who killed Bundy cattle -- also describing "mass graves of cattle shot from helicopters." "There is an awful lot more to this story," Hill said. However, U.S. Attorney Steven Myhre described Ammon Bundy as an outlaw. "He's a violent man who does not follow the law," Myhre said in court. "He can have those ideologies and beliefs, but he can't take up guns to enforce them." Last week, pleas of "not guilty" were entered on behalf of Ammon, 40, and Ryan, 43, as well as Ryan Payne, 32, Brian Cavalier, 44, and Blaine Cooper, 36 -- other defendants in the incident. The five men were also involved in the takeover of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in Oregon earlier this year. They were transported from Oregon to Las Vegas by U.S. Marshals. The brothers face several felony charges stemming from a 2014 conflict at the Bundy ranch in Bunkerville between their father Cliven, 69, and federal agents. The elder Bundy allegedly refused to pay fees for his cattle to graze on public lands, which led from federal pressure to the armed standoff. Cliven was arraigned for the conflict in March and refused to enter a plea. Federal prosecutors said the brothers helped coordinate armed protests in Bunkerville, but avoided prosecution for about two years until their involvement with the armed takeover in Oregon in January.

You really need to face reality, anyone exercising their Second Amendment rights against the US Government will only result in them losing everything they now currently have, most likely including their life too. This crazy idea that one can fight the government in some sort of armed confrontation has been shown over and over again to result in one of the quickest ways to end one's life. But feel free to continue believing such nonsense. -

Leave Homeland Defense to the trained professionals, not a bunch of NRA inspired fools playing Rambo. And unlike a majority here I have no fear of the government. -

Uptown, you seem to be a little on the anti-gun side. So why join a hunting forum where people are pro-gun? I am not anti-gun. I am pro sensible gun legislation and strongly believe that assault weapons do not belong in the hands of citizens. Ignoring the absolute nonsense pedaled by the NRA, no one needs large capacity magazines and the guns capable of shooting them for those very rare times they might need to defend their homes. And according to the so called "experts" here a shotgun with 00 buckshot is a far superior weapon for killing others. As for those who claim they need them for hunting, you must be a pretty sh%tty shot to need such a large amount of ammo to harvest your game.
