I am on the heavier side of the middle of the road with my setup I guess. I shoot a 60# bow with 30 DL and my 565 gr arrows are traveling at 250 fps. A deer can dodge a 300 fps arrow just the same. My pin gap is not bad at all,I set my slider at 25 and am about 2"low at 30 and 2" high at 20. I figure if I was to shoot further I also would have time to range. I feel confident about getting two holes in almost any spot I could hit a deer, except for the knuckle or the spine of the shoulder blade. I still don't take quartering to or frontal shots as that is too high risk for my liking. I do like how quiet my bow is with these arrows.

I had a great time last Sunday and shot quite well. I am very happy with my new bow. I may go to the cassety Hollow shoot this Sunday, not 100%. The streams are starting to look good as well.

yup, early black stone fly. The hatch is pretty good but I have not had much luck with them. They hatcb by crawling to the shore.

now is the time. about six weeks before you want to set them out...

You have to wrap the string around the tomato stems as they grow. The tomatoes themselves don't climb the string, you have to make them. We do that in our greenhouse. Make sure your support is sturdy, those tomatoes weigh a lot especially once you add several plants.

Looks neat, but too far to travel for my taste.

I am having a hard time finding enough people. we get about 8 dozen a week now..I have been selling them so far, but I could use a few more customers. Hard to find a balance.

I think we are a couple of hours from each other. I am outside of Cooperstown.

It is much harder to cut your arm or leg off with a Sawzall when you slip than it would be with a chainsaw. You also have more control. Borrow one from a friend,I am sure someone you know has one. Or hook a rope to the braces and yank them down. Or do what you like as it is your life on the line.

Listen to that little voice that is telling you not to get on the ladder with a chainsaw. That is asking for trouble and always a bad idea. If you have a Sawzall use that instead or come up with a different plan.

Who needs eggs? it appears I got too many chicks last year,it is real work trying to get rid of the eggs.

Scary thought squirrel, but we just about agree on this. I would propose three tax rates and no write offs. If there are no loopholes to exploit the super wealthy would pay a lot more in taxes then they do now. But that will never happen because the top billionaires will do whatever they can to avoid that becoming law. It is way to transparent.

Any of those is probably good for me,it is practically hunting season then, almost anyway.

Oh my,you will be in nursing school then or are you already? My wife had time for nothing when she was in school.

We can catch a late one so you do get a little practice in. It doesn't matter much really as I don't care much about the scores. I just try to improve my own shooting. The schedule is up on cny archery site,so we should pick one of the late ones and try to make it happen this year.

Is anyone gearing up for the 3d season in Central NY? I just got my new to me bow tuned and will head to the West Winfield shoot this Sunday. The schedule is up on the CNY archery website. We never managed our get together last year, maybe it will work out this year? @swampbucks,@otto,@robhuntandfish

I get it,this is America and one better not question the super wealthy folks contribution to the economy. They don't generally have people working for them to give the people something to do,it is for their own wealth. Of course stuff trickles down in the process. But is there a point where it becomes obscene to own that much? Not in most of your guys books. I am not talking about millionaires here, but a percentage of the top 1%.

I cook mine in a Dutch oven, first brown it a little then cook it at 325 with browned onions, crushed tomatoes, cumin, some hot peppers and some smoked paprika and enough beer to submerge half of the roast in the sauce. No lid and cook for 3hrs or more. Oh,garlic is in there too.

I think neck turned into one of my favorite cuts on a deer. I just made some pulled venison two days ago and it just falls apart. No trimming necessary either,so butchering doesn't get easier than that ...
