  1. I don't have the results of his latest labs. Wtf?
  2. tell that to a contractor I knew,or better yet his daughter. He was a big antivaxxer and just passed from covid. 53 years old and no health conditions. He was probably 15 or 20# overweight. Seems pretty stupid to me when one or two shots could have most likely prevented that. But you go ahead and enjoy the view from that hill.
  3. Why so opposed to crocs? Don't go to the saddlehunter forum, there are guys climbing trees wearing crocs...
  4. I once caught a crayfish with a nymph while fly fishing...and a dragonfly too. Both of them let go eventually...
  5. who is they? the royal chef?
  6. 180 # is humongous. Time for a new scale? Just kidding,I saw a giant doe.once so know they are out there. We were doing a drive and she walked past first and behind her were two deer that I thought were her fawns. The one was a six point and he did look like a 6 month old behind her. A friend killed him later and he was average. That doe must have been giant. You don't see those very often, congrats.
  7. ah ok,that makes me feel better. I thought it was a new pic when I saw the broken points, but you said he broke even more off. Best of luck out there!
  8. man, your standards are up there. That buck does not look too run down to me...but everything is relative.
  9. Stories like this make me happy I use a saddle instead of other methods. At least he wore a harness, hard to believe some dont...
  10. Hey Danny,I am in between you and virgil,Cooperstown area. That is a nice buck you got there, congrats. I always want to explore more stateland, I looked at some in your area but never have the time to get to all the places I want to. So many options here and so few people use it during bow season. I have a friend up the elk creek valley that keeps telling me to come and hunt some of his stands but I haven't made it there either...
  11. Another vote for lodge. We don't use anything but cast iron,so we have four different frying pans and a Dutch oven.
  12. I think I will finish processing my doe today. Then I will have to work the rest of the week, but it looks like we will get a crew together to do some drives on Saturday. I am pretty excited for that, it has been years since we have done that. This is with the crew that got me started in hunting, should be fun!
  13. that's what I think life is a game of chances, why not skew them in your favor if you can. Same for hunting... No guarantees with anything, besides that we all are gonna die at some point.
  14. Don't be afraid of bumping deer,at least that is info for you. I still hunt with the bow and got a few deer that way...
  15. I don't know.about you,but I would rather get a shot than the rona every 6 months.
  16. And that was his only hunting related contribution. One sentence. In the political section...
  17. yeah, lots of deer in 4F. They also manage to disappear after the opener though, for the most part anyway. I don't care too much about deer that are 100+yds out, unless it is for future intel. After opening day deer tend to avoid areas where you can see that far anyway.
  18. just stand by a tree or some blowdown. Movement is what will give you away. I sat by a tree opening day and had a spike buck come to 7 yds. That was when you could see you breath. He obviously was a dummy, but it easier than you think. Problem is if they come too close you won't be able to let them walk past without getting busted.
  19. I had a few years where I got a buck on opening day. I would do that every year if I could. Daylight activity takes such a nosedive after the opener that I don't care to go out until later in the season anyway.
  20. Of course there are situation where you need one. You also don't have to be as diligent about what is beyond your target as it usually is dirt when you are elevated. It also is easier to not be detected in a tree vs on the ground. After the bowseason I don't bother much with getting elevated.
  21. You do realize a person recovered from rona only has antibodies for about 6 months, after that they can get it again. sooner if it is a different variant. I have a buddy who had it twice this year.
  22. Or ditch the stands,I hardly ever sit in a tree during gun season. With the extended range of a gun I feel I don't have to get so close. Plus it allows you to move if you have to. Keep things simple and work your way up from there, pun intended.
  23. the challenge isn't equal because you hardly post anything outside of the political forum. You say because you don't want to brag about hunting, but have no problem bragging about your superior debate skills and mental capacity.
