My daughter bought a new chest freezer it quit working in two years , my venison freezer I got from my in-laws in the 80’s they bought it in the 60’s and it still works like the day they brought it home !

My grandfather’s 20 Fox with a load #6 pheasant did the trick for me on this limb hanger

I’ve shot them with all kinds of guns but last year put together a dedicated turkey gun. It’s a 1187 special purpose 12 gauge I have ceracoted, add a code black choke and fiber optic sights. It patterns #6 long beards , I shot one turkey with it last spring and was really happy with it.

My buddy let me try the Kuiu guide pants, they seem like a nice option but could rip pretty easily I felt and the camo is a big turn off but they come in solids too. They have some stretch and zip open vents.

Why so few options for big caliber hunting rifles in semi-automatic?
Trad bow replied to phantom's topic in General Chit Chat
I agree running shots are on a case by case basis. I picked up a Remington 572 pump 22 scoped it with a 4x leupold and have been practicing stalking can in the woods and shooting quickly. I feel it’s making me a better quick shot. Ideally tracking you catch them in there beds or not watching there back trail but that’s not always the case. -

I shot my buck this year with my Remington 760 pump in .35 REM, jumped him from his bed while tracking him and was able to get two quick shots. I really would like a Remington 742 semi but they have a bad reputation for jamming, sometimes called a Jamomatic. -
The geese are moving today I hope that’s a good sign

Our realtor told me not to worry about my mounts , skulls etc saying you live in county and people expect it. I left everything up and a single retired woman gave us $45k more than I listed it for. Of the six offers to n one week not a single one was list price.

I see the spare tire as a must , I’ve seen what happens when your 9 hours into Quebec and get a flat.,

I stand corrected there’s one that would be a total remodel in the town we sold in for sale
-
I agree, I looked in the town we sold in western NY and town we bought in the finger lakes and neither town has a single house listed now !

It’s crazy times my wife and just sold and bought in August. We put in offers on a handful of houses and everyone was listed for 5-7 days and then the seller went over the offers and excepted one. We offered 65k over list on one only to have an offer 40k over ours! In the end we sold ours for way over the value cash and bought our dream house (for well over list). We listed for five days and had six offers to choose from.

Vortex or Leupold
Trad bow replied to Swamp_bucks's topic in Hunting Gear Reviews and Gear Discussions
I just picked up M8 compact 4x gloss finish from 1984 that is just like new on EBay for $150.00 and it’s like new. Be careful of knock off leupolds if you go on EBay though there are lots of them. -
Vortex or Leupold
Trad bow replied to Swamp_bucks's topic in Hunting Gear Reviews and Gear Discussions
I have never used a Vortex but have several Leupolds and wouldn’t use anything else. Most of mine I have bought used for about half on new cost and they have a lifetime warranty that is good to whoever has the scope. -
Our soil is terrible and buckwheat is one of the few things that grow well. The bees love it and the turkeys along with other small game really hammer it too.

Nice lift ! Lol I’m a salesman for United Rentals and I was afraid it might be a competitors lift until I zoomed in.

It’s a beautiful day out and there should be some pressure. Yesterday I found a gut pile from a guy that shot his first deer last week ( a five point) and laying 30 yards a away dead is the smallest fawn I have ever seen in season. I want to give him the benefit of doubt but my gut tells me otherwise. -

No quite live but yesterday we had some snow and there’s nothing I enjoy more than tracking deer in he snow. I hit the woods at 10 am and had to circle the woods to get the wind. While still hunting a steep hill side I cut tracks and at 12:14 I jumped this guy from his bed and my 760 Gamemaster in 35 rem came up smooth as silk.- 9078 replies

We saw plenty of deer yesterday I saw three small bucks three does and one unknown. My buddy shot the buck I missed with my bow last year and had on camera all winter spring and summer but he avoided me all of bow season this year. He also shot a doe, back at today.- 9078 replies
