LIVE From The Woods 2021 Stories And Pictures Let's Have Em!

Finally connected early this morning. Hunting Park in 3N around 7:10 this small eight came from downwind to my left. Was on the move and had to burp twice to get him to stop. 40 yd shot thru some leaves. Did a 180 after shot and ran 50-60 yds. Heart shot pass thru. Small buck but meat in the freezer. Missed an opportunity on a big six point Sunday in Roscoe. Will be out after Thanksgiving to fill a doe tag. Good luck to all out there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk- 9078 replies

Was out Monday morning in Putnam Valley 3N gunning for yotes and called in a Fisher. First one ever for me in Putnam County. Seen plenty of tracks in snow so he's been around for a while. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Not sure what parking spot or field you are referring to. The fields off of Nichols road are huntable. They do stock some pheasant early in the season. But it has gotten so overgrown over the years a lot of land is not accessible anymore, at least without busting thru head high brush and brambles. Not what it was back in the 80's. Also to many hikers and mt. bikers. Also its in Putnam county not Dutchess. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

In 3N seen many bucks and does in seeking phase on Nov. 11. One 8 pt. buck chasing a doe on Friday the 18th at 11am. One lone 5 pt. buck downwind of 3 doe on the 21st at dusk...not very interested in them. Last daytime pics were early last week. They are out during daytime just not getting them on cams. Still hoping to come across this buck soon.

After what I saw this past Friday I have to agree. 15-25 mph winds and deer were up and moving big time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hope your correct. 1997 was the year I took my biggest buck a 12 point. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yup same here. Friday was one of the best days ive had in the woods. 6 bucks and 6 doe. One buck was a slammer. Figures I couldnt get off a shot. Saturday 1 buck 2 doe. Took Sunday off. Today 1 buck. Where did they all go? And to add Friday was windy as hell. Didnt think I would see much. Boy was I wrong. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

They are still moving but not like this past Friday. Had a 6 point slip by me at 70 yards around 3 pm. Everything seems to be going around me last couple of days. Got a pic of the buck I saw early Friday morning following a doe. Pic taken about 30 minutes before I got to my stand. Also pics I believe of the 6 point I saw today. Town of Kent and Putnam Valley. Had another 8 point yesterday morning by stand. Waiting for good shot. He winded my trail coming into stand and backed out. Also had 2 doe nearby but got downwind and winded me. Only stayed in woods till 10:30. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Activity picking up today in 3N. Early morning had a large racked buck tailing a doe. Not chasing but definitely seeking phase. Saw 5 more bucks searching. Wind didnt seem to bother them. Matter of fact it seemed they were traveling mostly with the wind at their backs. Also saw 6 doe. One of the best days ive had in woods in years. Just hope it continues. I use to hunt Canada Hill in Garrison back in the mid to late 80's. Saw plenty of big bucks and many doe. Access then and now is tough. Surrounded by private property. Parts are also off limits on the Appalachian Trail. I now mainly hunt Fahnenstock Park in Kent and Putnam Valley. Seen some nice bucks there over the years also. Managed to take a 12 point that scored over 120 in 1997. .

Ive been using an Eagle Fishmark 480 for at least 10 years now. In a portable case that I use on the boat and out on the ice. For boat the transducer is mounted on a 2-3 foot stick that is clamped to the stern. For the ice it is mounted on an empty tip up. Works great in both instances. If the screen speed is maxed out you can get real time feedback that works great on the ice. Cant seem to fish without it these days! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Im sure thats true for most if not all setups. My first yote this year came running in from upwind. I hadn't really expected anything coming from that direction so he totally surprised me when he showed up. Shot with a 69 grain Nosler in the midsection. Put him down but got back up and ran straight towards me. Thought it was in attack mode. I cycled that bolt pretty quick as he ran to my left bout 15 yards and put another shot into him to put him down for good. Talk about an adrenaline rush!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

My nephew sent me a picture of this stud that was taken somewhere in the Daks around mid November. Does anyone know the story behind the bruiser? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I don't understand it. Ive made a couple of posts in different threads this one included and they get edited and or deleted. Nothing foul or malicious was ever said. I realized after I posted in this thread that my pics weren't cell cam pics. Really...whats the big deal! Was it really worth me being censored! Had another posted deleted in "DMP Swap" because I stated I would be willing to give out a permit for a place to hunt. Again...really! WTF!!
